Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated, “In the recent reports published by the United Nations, the schools we have built are above world standards both in terms of physical aspects and equipment materials. You will see this in the new schools we have built. It is possible to feel the physical innovations, but there is one thing, which is that all of our schools in Turkey, with over 65 thousand schools, have been equipped with internet infrastructure.”

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin came to Nevşehir to attend the ‘Provincial Education Evaluation Meeting.’ Minister Tekin first visited the Nevşehir Governorship and received a briefing from Governor Ali Fidan. After attending the Provincial Evaluation Meeting, Minister Tekin made a press statement. In his statement, Minister Tekin said, “When we look at the overall figures regarding Nevşehir, they are not different from the general figures in Turkey. Before the primary education revolution initiated under the leadership of our President, in the 2002-2003 academic year, there were around 2,300 classrooms in Nevşehir. Currently, excluding those in our investment program and under construction, we have nearly 3,500 classrooms. This means that our classroom count has increased by almost 50%. As a result, the student-to-classroom ratio has reflected in the figures.”

Minister Tekin continued, “In one of the recent reports published by the United Nations, the schools we have built are above world standards in terms of construction quality and equipment materials. You will see this in the new schools we have built. It is possible to feel the physical innovations, but there is one thing: all of our schools in Turkey, with over 65 thousand schools, have been equipped with internet infrastructure. Our children, under the guidance of our teachers, can access the EBA platform, which includes all the best practices in the world on boards in schools that provide internet access, regardless of where they are in Turkey. A teacher anywhere in Turkey can connect to the internet and, from the smart board, if there is a good practice uploaded to the system from anywhere in the world, they can choose from those and teach their lessons to their students.”

Minister Tekin also mentioned that nearly 20 million students have watched the theater play telling the story of the Republic, stating, “Last year, we accomplished something that is considered a world record. For the first time in the world, we performed a theater play in a stadium. We engaged 35 thousand people in a theater performance. The play was organized by the Ministry of National Education titled ‘Towards the Republic.’ It was a theater play telling the story of the Republic for its 100th anniversary. This year, we turned the theater play into a movie. Nearly 20 million of our students watched the ‘Towards the Republic’ theater play in their classrooms via EBA.”

Minister Tekin then went to the 15 July Martyrs Anatolian High School and participated in the flag ceremony. Addressing the students there, Minister Tekin said, “You are preparing for university. You do not need anything other than your teachers and textbooks for the exams conducted by ÖSYM.”
