The ‘3rd International Tarsus Festival’, organized by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality under the slogan ‘In the Footsteps of History, Among Legends’, will meet with the people of Mersin from November 1-3. The festival, which will last for 3 days in the Tarsus district, will feature events such as art workshops, discussions, gastronomy presentations, performances by dance groups, documentary screenings, concerts, exhibitions, a book signing event, and a city tour.

The festivals that bring together the people of Mersin with culture and art continue. This year, the ‘3rd International Tarsus Festival’ organized by the Department of Culture and Social Affairs with the slogan ‘In the Footsteps of History, Among Legends’, will meet with the people of Mersin on November 1-2-3 with a full program. The festival will kick off on Friday, November 1, with a parade attended by the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Vahap Seçer. The beloved artist Candan Erçetin and the group Madrigal will also perform during the festival.

Festival events will take place at 14 different locations: Republic Square, Tarsus Museum, St. Paul Square, Yarenlik Area, Culture Park, Kubat Pasha Square, Gözlü Kule Excavation House, TADEKA Building, Misak-ı Milli Building, Çukurova Painting and Art Gallery, Tarsus Municipality Mehmet Bal Art Gallery, Tarsu Shopping Mall, Siptilli Bazaar, and Human Rights Square. The events spreading over these 14 different locations will appeal to all ages and demographics. Throughout the 3 days of the festival, events such as art workshops, discussions, gastronomy presentations, performances by dance groups from different countries, documentary screenings, concerts, exhibitions, a book signing event, and a city tour will be held.

Bengi İspir Özdülger, Coordinator of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, stated that the countdown has begun for the 3rd International Tarsus Festival they will be holding this year. Emphasizing that they prepared another festival full of rich content, Özdülger said, “We aimed for our festival, which we will carry out in a wide hinterland, to have very deep contents.”

Özdülger expressed that they included various activities in many areas to introduce Tarsus’s rich history and cultural structure to the citizens, saying, “We will be together with important names composed of professionals in the field, from its history to its philosophy, from its art to its gastronomy, who are known and appreciated by our people. In this festival, which we value greatly, we will experience unity and togetherness with our people through the concerts to be held in the evenings.”

Lastly, Özdülger stated that they wanted to preserve the beauty, culinary delights, culture, and philosophy of Tarsus within the scope of the festival, inviting everyone to the festival.
