The Republic Day celebrations and the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, organized under the coordination of the Muş Governorship, were filled with colorful scenes.
In Muş, a ceremony and events were held in the City Square to mark Republic Day on October 29 and the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. The program began with Muş Governor Avni Çakır receiving congratulations in his office, followed by a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. The program featured a choir from Şehit Yücel Kurtoğlu Fine Arts High School singing folk songs, and the poems recited by the students received great acclaim. The program continued with the presentation of awards to those who ranked in competitions, along with various performances.
In his speech during the ceremony, Governor Çakır noted that they shared the pride and enthusiasm of celebrating the 101st year of the Republic, stating, “Our Republic is the crystallized form of the national struggle paid for with the blood of our martyrs at Çanakkale, Sakarya, Dumlupınar, and the plains of Afyon. The foundations of our Republic were laid by the determination and resolution of our nation. The courage and strategic intelligence of Sultan Alparslan opened the gates of Anatolia, which today forms the foundation of the Republic we celebrate on its 101st anniversary. A country and a Republic have been gifted to us, allowing us to look back at our past with pride and forward to our future with confidence. Our duty today is to protect this legacy and advance it further. The occupiers, who could not achieve their goals against the determination and courage of our nation during the national struggle, are now trying to realize their intentions through the support they give to terrorist organizations. As long as we maintain our unity and solidarity as a nation, no one will have the power to stop the rise of our beloved nation.”
The program concluded with a transition ceremony, attended by Governor Çakır’s wife Bahar Çakır, Garrison Commander Transport Colonel Ali Osman Sağlam, Muş Chief Public Prosecutor Hüseyin Kantar, Muş Deputy Governors Mustafa Batuhan Alpboğa, Cihat Abukan, Tahir Yılmaz, Muş Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Yılmaz Kırgel, heads of institutions, representatives of political parties, military officials, students, and citizens.
