The 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bursa. Thousands of Bursa residents participated in the celebrations, while the display of F16 jets took everyone’s breath away.

The 101st year of October 29 Republic Day was celebrated with a program organized by the Bursa Governorship. Citizens showed great interest in the ceremony on Atatürk Avenue, watching the celebrations with Turkish flags in their hands. The ceremonies began with Governor Erol Ayyıldız receiving congratulations alongside protocol members at the Historic Governorship Building.

Following this, Governor Ayyıldız, Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, and Bursa Provincial Garrison Commander Brigadier General Birol Arslan greeted the public.

In this context, celebrations were also held at Heykel by the Bursa Governorship. The demonstration by military units and police received high praise from the citizens. The mounted police unit and soldiers in alpine uniforms also attracted great interest.

The celebrations were attended by Governor Ayyıldız, Mayor Bozbey, as well as Bursa MPs Refik Özen, Ahmet Kılıç, Emel Gözükara Durmaz, Ayhan Salman, Selçuk Türkoğlu, Orhan Sarıbal, Hasan Öztürk, Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu, Kayıhan Pala, Bursa Provincial Garrison Commander Brigadier General Birol Arslan, Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General İdris Tataroğlu, Bursa Provincial Police Chief Dr. Sabit Akın Zaimoğlu, AK Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan, and CHP Bursa Provincial Chairman Nihat Yeşiltaş.

During the ceremonies, F-16s performed a flyover. After the displays that the citizens observed with admiration, the Turkish flag was raised. Speaking at the ceremony, Bursa Governor Ayyıldız stated, “We must uphold our high values with the motto of one nation, one state, one homeland, and one flag; we must live in the spirit of national unity, solidarity, and social cohesion, and we must cling to each other. We see the events occurring in the international arena, the moves and shares made in the region where our country is located. Thank God, our nation and state have the capability, ability, and experience today to read and respond to the developments being witnessed, incomparable to the conditions of the past. The Republic of Turkey has become the door of hope for all the oppressed and victimized people in the world today. ISIS, PKK, FETÖ, and YPG are bloody terrorist organizations. The Republic of Turkey has repeatedly shown to everyone, both friends and foes, that it is a state that cannot be operated against in political, economic, diplomatic, and military fields. Our goal, which we have reached through our unity and solidarity, is that our civilization level will hopefully rise even higher. We once again present our gratitude and respect to our nation, showcasing our dignity with a steadfast stance.”

Governor Ayyıldız congratulated the public on the holiday at the reception with the Bursa protocol and MPs. The Imam of Muradiye Mosque also recited the Quran in honor of the martyrs.
