On the occasion of October 29 Republic Day, gendarmerie teams made a surprise visit to the little ones at a village school. The 14 students studying in a village at an altitude of 1,800 meters, far from the city, were delighted by the gendarmerie’s surprise, which did not forget them in the 101st year of the republic.

In the 101st year of the republic, which was declared on October 29, 1923, with the firing of 101 cannon shots, a heartwarming celebration took place in Yazyurdu village, located about 40 kilometers from Bayburt. The Bayburt Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s Domestic Violence and Children’s Section teams made an unforgettable surprise for the little ones at the village school. The children, welcomed by their soldier brothers and sisters with flags and balloons, were overjoyed, and the gendarmerie teams, sharing in the children’s happiness, distributed various gifts, children’s magazines, balloons, and flags to the little students. In the meticulously planned celebration program, the gendarmerie dog Özne entertained the children with its performance, showcasing its skills.

In the footage prepared by the Children’s Section in memory of the day, the smiles on the little students’ faces warmed hearts, and the recorded moments resembled scenes from a short film. In the 101st year of the declaration of the republic, the Bayburt gendarmerie’s images left a meaningful memory for the children of the republic, showing a child waking up from sleep and excitedly running to school upon seeing a Turkish soldier at the window. Upon arriving at the school, the child sees that their soldier brothers and sisters are welcoming them with balloons and flags. Then, everyone decorates the classroom with Turkish flags and Atatürk posters in a manner befitting October 29. After these moments, the little students played games with the gendarmerie personnel in the schoolyard, enjoying delightful times, while the gendarmerie’s efforts to make the children happy and celebrate October 29 with enthusiasm touched hearts.

The children, who were introduced to a drone for the first time, had the opportunity to see their village and school from the air with the drone goggles placed on their eyes. The celebration program concluded with each student seeing their village through the drone goggles.
