The Republic Day will be celebrated with the ‘101st Anniversary Festival’ in Bakırköy.

In Bakırköy, the Republic Day on October 29 will be celebrated with a series of events appealing to all ages for 4 days. The events organized under the name “Republic is Our 101st Year Festival” will kick off on Saturday, October 26, at 10:00 AM with the Republic Cup competitions at the Atatürk Sports and Life Village. During the 2-day tournaments, athletes will compete in football, chess, tennis, and bocce.

In Bakırköy, the Republic Day on October 29 will be celebrated with a series of events appealing to all ages for 4 days. As part of the events organized under the name “Republic is Our 101st Year Festival,” Atatürk and Republic-themed films will be screened in cinemas across the district. In this context, the films “Devrim Arabaları,” “Yücel’in Çiçekleri,” “Veda,” and “Atatürk 1” will be screened for free. On Monday, October 28, the events will begin with the exhibition “Turkish Beauties from 101 Photographers on the 101st Year of the Republic” at the Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center. Celebrations will continue with tango, dance, band, and percussion shows at Republic Square and Yeşilköy Beach, followed by a Folk Dance Show and Traveler Concert at the Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center.

Theater, cinema, and music in the Republic period will be discussed
On Tuesday, October 29, the celebrations will continue with events befitting the 101st anniversary of the Republic. After band, orchestra, and choir performances at Bakırköy Bazaar and Yeşilköy Beach, discussions titled “Guests of Yekta Kopan” will begin. The discussions, which will take place at the Yunus Emre Cultural Center between 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM, will feature Figen Ayhan, Murat Beşer, Sevinç Erbulak, Zeynep Miraç, Burak Göral, Coşkun Aral, Timur Akkurt, and Ünsal Ünlü discussing theater, cinema, and music during the Republic period.

The excitement will continue with a torchlight parade and Simge’s concert
On the evening of October 29 at 7:30 PM, a Torchlight Parade will start at the E-5 Intersection of İncirli Street, where people of all ages will walk for the Republic. After the march ends at Republic Square, at 9:00 PM, the beloved pop music artist Simge Sağın will meet with her fans.
