Chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Şekib Avdagiç commented on the Ministry of Trade’s decision to completely halt trade with Israel. Avdagiç emphasized that by halting trade with Israel until ‘uninterrupted and sufficient’ humanitarian aid flows to Gaza, Turkey demonstrated its utmost stance against the humanitarian crimes committed in Palestine.

Suspending Trade with Israel: A Peaceful Step

Avdagiç stated that Turkey halted trade with Israel using its ‘economic power,’ the most peaceful method at hand, to end the brutality in Gaza. He also highlighted that this step could contribute to ending Israel’s attacks on Palestine in the shortest time possible.

Test of Humanity: The Importance of Gaza

Avdagiç pointed out that Gaza is a test of humanity for the world, emphasizing that when it comes to the lives of children, women, and innocent individuals, trade should take a back seat. He stressed that countries that do not stop Israel’s brutality should not forget the disasters experienced throughout history.

Support and Conscience: Turkish Business World’s Stance

The Chairman of ITO stated that the Turkish business world stands behind all measures taken and to be taken by the state, acting not only with commercial but also with moral responsibility. He mentioned that everyone should take responsibility to prevent the brutality in Gaza.
