The Kütahya Education and Development Program (EGEP), implemented by the Kütahya Provincial Directorate of National Education since the 2021-2022 academic year, concluded with an award ceremony this year, evaluating the activities carried out throughout the year in different areas of development according to the types of schools.

The ceremony was attended by Provincial Director of National Education Hasan Başyiğit, Deputy Provincial Directors Hamdi Sarıöz, Hakan Gölpınar, Muhsin Kaymak, branch managers, and school principals. Schools that met the criteria set within the EGEP program and collected sufficient points were awarded gold and silver badges.

The ceremony began with speeches from Provincial Director Hasan Başyiğit. Başyiğit stated, “The great thinker Nurettin Topçuoğlu says, ‘The salvation of a generation can only be sought in the elevation of education.’ Taking this statement as a starting point, we continue to work together to make our province’s success in education permanent through the projects we have implemented, raising our children as ethical individuals who read, research, and use science and technology for the benefit of humanity, based on our national and spiritual values. As the education family, we must continue our personal and media development to provide our children with better education, always strive to be renewed, and be in a constant state of change. The Kütahya Education and Development Program, which is one of the reflections of this effort, has been successfully implemented throughout our province for three years with your support since the 2021-2022 academic year, including our districts. In the past three years, our schools have adopted a theme specific to each year within the EGEP project throughout the year. The theme for 2021-2022, if you recall, was Hekim Sinan. The following year, during the 2022-2023 academic year, we worked on the theme of Cahit Art as the mathematics year. In the last academic year, we all worked on the theme of the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We conducted many activities based on this theme. During this process, we tracked the school-based development of our educational institutions with over 30,000 activities we carried out in various fields such as digital education, robotic coding, out-of-school education, and sustainable development. Now is the perfect time to make a new start. We have now reached the end of the Kütahya Education and Development Program, which we have implemented for three years with your support. Today, we have transitioned to the Türkiye Century Education model, announced and implemented by our ministry, from roots to the future. This vision represents stepping towards the future based on our roots, interpreting the Türkiye Century Education model specifically for Kütahya while keeping the main outlines the same. For us, what matters most is that our children go through a qualified education process and grow up as competent and virtuous individuals. As the education family, we will continue to work tirelessly, without getting tired, bored, or weary, to establish a city identity in Kütahya where the projects we have implemented regarding education come to life from the furthest point of our center to the most remote corner of our educational family, developing in schools and maturing in society. With these feelings and thoughts, I would like to thank all my friends, all our administrators, teachers, children, parents, and everyone who is confident in this matter,” he said.

After Director Başyiğit’s speech, a promotional video showcasing the activities carried out within the EGEP framework in the 2023-2024 academic year was shown. Following the presentation about Maarif43, which will be implemented in the 2024-2025 academic year, the award ceremony took place.

The ceremony, where 12 schools received silver badges and 18 schools received gold badges, concluded with Director Hasan Başyiğit presenting the awards.
