Children gathered at the neighborhood festival in Bayraklı.

The Neighborhood Festival organized by Bayraklı Municipality in Izmir provided unforgettable moments for children and families at Ekrem Akurgal Park in Cengizhan Neighborhood. The event, held in a festive atmosphere, featured puppet shows, clowns, educational workshops, and sports games, offering children both a fun and educational experience. Bayraklı Mayor İrfan Önal also shared in the joy of the children at the event. Mayor Önal stated, “We contribute to the development of our children by connecting them with art, sports, and science. Their happiness is our happiness.”

Children indulged in exploration and fun

The festival, organized by the Bayraklı Municipality’s Culture and Social Affairs Directorate, took place with a strong turnout at Ekrem Akurgal Park in Cengizhan Neighborhood. Puppet shows, bubble shows, and clowns were the most popular activities in the event area. While children had a great time at the stage shows, they also enjoyed themselves in the workshops, gaining new knowledge and discovering their talents in workshops themed around science, art, and sports. Activities covering astronomy and space science, brain games, archaeology, robotic coding, and fun mathematics attracted the children’s interest. The survivor course set up with the support of the Sports Affairs Directorate, along with games like sack racing, tug of war, and penalty kicks, also received great appreciation. Mayor İrfan Önal, who closely interacted with the children throughout the event, participated in tug-of-war, penalty shots, and various workshops, sharing in the children’s happiness. Besides Mayor Önal, council members, hundreds of children, and their families attended the festival.

Mayor İrfan Önal remarked, “It is very important for us to connect our children with science, art, and sports. The enthusiastic participation of families and children made us proud. The happiness on our children’s faces is our greatest source of motivation. Because happy children are a strong future. I sincerely thank all the citizens who participated in the event.”
