The Consul of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Mersin, Özgür Ezel, visited the Mersin Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone (MTOSB) to gather information about the region.
Consul Ezel visited MTOSB together with Tourism Coordinator Kazım Türkan. After touring the Regional Directorate, Model Factory, and Innovation Center, and meeting with students at the MTOSB Private Şişecam Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Ezel received information about the Model Factory and the school’s education system from MTOSB President Sabri Tekli.
“Our industrialists are open to investing in the TRNC”
MTOSB President Tekli stated that they always aim to maintain Mersin’s industrial strength at high levels and also place great importance on education. Expressing that they have a structure that produces and educates, Tekli said, “We attach great importance to education in terms of the future of our country.”
Recalling that they had made a series of visits to the TRNC in recent months, Tekli noted, “During our visit to the TRNC, we met with TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, and Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova to exchange ideas. A regulatory update is expected in the coming days. Following that, we will have further discussions regarding an organized industrial zone investment on an area of 100 hectares in the Güvercinlik region. Of course, the outcome of these discussions must comply with the regulations of both states. If our Ministry of Industry permits, our industrialists are open to investing in the TRNC.”
In addition to MTOSB President Tekli, the visit was attended by MTOSB Board Members Hasan Yıldırım, Mehmet Orğun, Regional Deputy Directors Pınar Özal Kanık, and Hasan Çay.
