AK Party Malatya Deputy Inanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak returned to Malatya immediately after receiving the news of the earthquake centered in Kale, abandoning the General Assembly activities in Ankara. Ölmeztoprak, who conducted inspections in Malatya, stated that they took immediate action after the disaster and are standing by their fellow citizens.
In statements regarding the earthquake, Ölmeztoprak said, “With the support of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the coordination of all our ministries, interventions were made quickly. We continue the work in our city without slowing down.”

Ölmeztoprak, who inspected the city after the earthquake, stated that they immediately took action to be with the citizens of Malatya and coordinate the necessary interventions.
Ölmeztoprak provided information about the initial assessments following the earthquake that occurred in Kale, stating, “In line with the instructions of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, interventions were made promptly in coordination with all our ministries. According to initial evaluations, there has been no damage to the infrastructure and superstructure in the earthquake centered in Kale. Basic services such as electricity, natural gas, and water continue uninterrupted. There has been no destruction or loss of life due to the earthquake. Aside from two citizens who were hospitalized due to panic, there have been no injuries. Our injured citizens are stable and do not have life-threatening conditions.”
Ölmeztoprak expressed that teams from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change quickly moved to the area after the earthquake and that buildings are being thoroughly scanned, stating that the work in the city is being reported to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in real time. Ölmeztoprak said, “Repair works have been initiated in buildings where minor damages such as plaster cracks have been detected. Once this process is completed, we will continue to erase the traces of the earthquake in our Kale district.”
The Disaster Coordination Meeting, which was quickly organized after the earthquake, was held in the garden of the Kale Government House due to the building sustaining light damage. The meeting was attended by the District Governorship, gendarmerie, police, AFAD, Red Crescent, and local administrators. AK Party Malatya Deputy Inanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak stated that they evaluated the current situation in the region in a phone call with AFAD President Okay Memiş and that necessary work is ongoing to meet the needs of their fellow citizens.
Ölmeztoprak said, “While the fact that we have not lost any lives in this earthquake in Kale reassures us, we are managing the process with utmost care by taking all necessary precautions. All work done for damage assessment after the earthquake is reported immediately to our President and relevant ministries. There are light damages in public buildings in our district, but detailed inspections of these buildings will be carried out and necessary precautions will be taken.”
During the meeting, the general situation in the district, damage assessment works, and measures to be taken for the needs of citizens were discussed in detail. Necessary interventions have been made promptly in the face of this tremor in Kale, and damage assessment and repair works have been initiated.”
After the Disaster Coordination Meeting, AK Party Malatya Deputy Inanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak visited the temporary aid centers established in the Kale district. He examined the works at the centers organized by AFAD, the Red Crescent, and law enforcement agencies on-site. Ölmeztoprak stated, “Our teams on the ground are working tirelessly around the clock with great dedication. We are on the ground with all our teams to meet the needs of our citizens and ensure their safety.”
Ölmeztoprak noted that the work being done in the field is being carried out meticulously and that all resources are being mobilized to minimize the problems citizens face during this process.
AK Party Malatya Deputy Ölmeztoprak indicated that the normalization process in Malatya has begun rapidly after the earthquake, stating, “Our citizens are quickly returning to their homes and workplaces and continuing their daily lives after the earthquake centered in Kale. However, we remain ready with all our teams to respond to possible developments without letting our guard down.”
Although there has been no major damage in the city following the panic caused by the earthquake in Kale, Ölmeztoprak pointed out that the wounds from the earthquake of February 6, referred to as the ‘Disaster of the Century’, are still being healed, emphasizing that reconstruction and building efforts in Malatya are continuing at a rapid pace. Ölmeztoprak stated, “Projects initiated under the leadership of our President after the February 6 earthquake are continuing without interruption with the support of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Şimşek. Reconstruction and revival activities are ongoing intensively in every corner of our city.”

AK Party Malatya Deputy Inanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak visited the citizens receiving treatment at Turgut Özal Medical Center. During the visit, he greeted the patients and closely monitored their conditions, showing special attention to citizens affected by the earthquake.
During the visit, Ölmeztoprak spoke with a citizen who had a fracture in their back and would need surgery, explaining that this situation occurred due to the collapse of their retaining wall. It was also mentioned that some patients who fell due to panic and had their blood pressure drop underwent X-rays and were kept under observation for one night.
