Children are learning traffic rules while having fun.

The Şehitkamil Traffic Education Park, established by the Şehitkamil Municipality, continues to teach children traffic rules both theoretically and practically.

Located in the Belkıs Neighborhood, this thematic park, which spans an area of 20,000 square meters, aims to raise future drivers and pedestrians as conscious individuals. Most recently, 4th-grade students from Olcay Külah Primary School and Cyprus Primary School received training in this unique park.

In the park, approximately 200 students receive training every weekday. To date, a total of 71,705 students have had the opportunity to gain traffic awareness by receiving education in this park.

Miniature city layout for training

The Şehitkamil Traffic Education Park features a miniature city layout where children can experience real-life traffic conditions. The park includes 2 classrooms for 24 people, an amphitheater for 51 people, traffic signal systems, overpasses and underpasses, pedestrian crossings, and intersections. Additionally, in an environment that includes structures such as a fire station, hospital, school, gas station, and bus stop, students conduct their training in the closest way to real life.

Theoretical and practical training

Students first receive theoretical training on traffic rules in the park, and then they apply what they have learned by using electric and pedal-powered vehicles. Furthermore, they also experience safe driving on a specially designed 650-meter bicycle path for learning how to ride a bicycle. At the end of the training, participants are gifted a water bottle, and successful students enjoy their time in the park’s playground.

Safe driving and conscious pedestrian education

The Şehitkamil Traffic Education Park aims not only to teach students traffic rules but also to raise awareness about safe driving and being a conscious pedestrian. These trainings are seen as an important investment for a safe future and contribute to children learning to comply with traffic rules and become responsible individuals.
