They took their first step into medicine in their white coats.

The white coat ceremony for the first-year students of the 2024-2025 academic year organized by Düzce University Faculty of Medicine was held.

The program, held in the Faculty of Medicine Conference Hall, was attended by Düzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nedim Sözbir, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Serkan Torun, General Secretary Nihat Yıldız, faculty members, medical students, and their families.

Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Serkan Torun began his speech by congratulating the students for realizing their dreams and working hard to gain admission to the Faculty of Medicine and join the Düzce University family. Emphasizing that the medical profession requires discipline, dedication, and great responsibility, Torun stated that every challenge the students face would remind them of the value of the medical profession. He mentioned that patients entrust their lives to physicians and concluded his speech by wishing that students always prioritize ethical values.

“Choose the Specialties Needed by Turkey”

Rector Prof. Dr. Nedim Sözbir congratulated the medical students and their families for taking their first steps into the medical profession. Noting that a challenging process lies ahead for the students, Rector Sözbir added that with hard work, they could overcome difficulties. Emphasizing the importance of human values alongside science, Nedim Sözbir highlighted that students should aspire to challenges and choose specialties needed by Turkey to serve humanity. He concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude to the academics of Düzce University who prepare the students for the medical profession in the best possible way.

After the opening speeches, the White Coat Ceremony commenced. Düzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nedim Sözbir, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Serkan Torun, and faculty members dressed the Düzce University Faculty of Medicine students in their white coats, allowing them to experience the honor of stepping into the medical profession while sharing their excitement and happiness with their families.
