In Erzincan, the Healthy Life Center, which aims to strengthen primary health services, protect individuals and the community from health-related risks, and promote a healthy lifestyle, continues to provide services behind the Akşemsettin Mosque on 577th Street in the Yunus Emre neighborhood.

The Healthy Life Center (HLC), which is one of the phases of the Health Transformation Program, operates as an additional service unit connected to the Community Health Centers.

Dr. Funda Demirel, the responsible physician of the Healthy Life Center, provided information about the services offered at the center: “We offer free services with our staff consisting of physicians, dentists, dieticians, physiotherapists, nurses, midwives, radiology technicians, psychologists, child development specialists, social service specialists, and health officers.”

In her statement, Dr. Funda Demirel said, “Our dieticians at the Healthy Life Center provide healthy eating counseling, and body analyses are conducted for individuals with obesity and chronic diseases to prepare suitable diet programs and follow-ups. Our physiotherapists organize personalized physical exercise programs aimed at increasing mobility and preventing posture disorders. Special activity support is provided to groups under the supervision of our physiotherapists in our gyms.

In our oral and dental health unit, screening and training are organized as part of preventive health services. Awareness training is provided to primary and secondary school students in this scope. In our Cancer Early Detection Screening and Education Center, cervical cancer screening is performed for women aged 30-65, breast cancer screening for women aged 40-69, and colorectal cancer screening for men and women aged 50-70. Our mobile unit conducts cervical cancer and colon cancer screenings in villages. In addition to these screenings, educational programs are provided to reduce cancer cases. In our reproductive health unit, family planning counseling and intrauterine device (IUD) applications are performed by our experienced staff. In our prenatal education classes, counseling services on reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and the importance of breast milk are provided. Developmental assessments are conducted by our child development specialists for individuals aged 0-18. Follow-up and counseling services are provided for children with developmental disorders or special needs. Our psychologists offer individual counseling, group counseling, and family counseling services to adults. Our social service specialist provides psychosocial support to families and individuals for protection, prevention, and support purposes. Trainings are organized to inform individuals and the community and to raise awareness. In the context of combating smoking, our smoking cessation clinic offers supportive services including physician examination and psychologist consultation.”
