Good news for mothers who gave birth in Denizli, university students, farmers, and martyr families.

The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Council, gathered under the chairmanship of Mayor Çavuşoğlu, made important decisions on many projects ranging from mothers giving birth to university students, from producers to martyrs’ families. Reminding that they strive for the happiness and peace of the people of Denizli, Mayor Çavuşoğlu thanked all council members who unanimously supported the decisions.

The second meeting of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Council’s September session was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu. Important decisions were made on many projects in the council, ranging from mothers giving birth to university students, from producers to martyrs’ families. In the 5th item of the agenda, it was decided to provide a ‘Newborn Support Package’ for mothers giving birth. It was determined that mothers residing in Denizli with a household income of no more than 60,000 TL who give birth after August 1, 2024, will receive support for their newborns aged 0-3 months through the newborn support package. In the 6th item of the agenda, it was decided that university students residing in Denizli but studying outside the city would receive a one-time in-kind educational assistance of 5,000 TL between September 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, for their intercity transportation, stationery, accommodation fees, and other needs, provided that their household income is below two gross minimum wages.

Significant Support for Farmers
Another significant support was announced with Mayor Çavuşoğlu’s written proposal, stating that due to the dry grain production season in Denizli, yield decreases were experienced and that to support the income of barley and corn producers due to low grain prices and to ensure the sustainability of production, barley and corn will be purchased from producers who have remaining products at a price of 8.5 TL per kilogram for flaked barley and 9.5 TL per kilogram for flaked corn.

Guesthouse and Nursery Fees Determined
In the 30th item of the agenda, the fee schedule for the Zübeyde Hanım Girls’ Student Guesthouse, which will be operational for the first time this year by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, was determined. Accordingly, the monthly price for a single room is set at 4,000 TL, for a double room at 3,000 TL, and for a four-person room at 2,000 TL. It was stated that priority will be given to the children of martyrs and veterans, and a 50% discount will be applied to the existing tariff for the children of martyrs. In the 31st item of the agenda, it was stated that the nurseries, which will operate as Child Development Centers, will charge a monthly fee of 4,000 TL, and the children of martyrs will benefit from these nurseries free of charge. Reminding that they strive for the happiness and peace of the people of Denizli, Mayor Çavuşoğlu thanked all council members who unanimously supported the decisions.
