Heavy Rain Warning in Konya and Surroundings

Experts stating that rainfall in Konya and its surroundings in April is 23% below normal, warned that the rainy system will continue in the coming days and caution against sudden floods, waterlogging, and other negative situations.

Weekend Rain Expected

Konya continues to be under the influence of rainy weather coming from the Balkans. Rain is expected in Konya and its surroundings on Friday and the weekend. The Regional Forecast Center of Meteorology 8th Region Directorate emphasized that citizens should be cautious against the risk of waterlogging with the rainfall.

Temperature Will Rise

Meteorology 8th Region Directorate Regional Forecast Center Technical Chief Hayati Alkan stated that temperatures will rise starting from next week, indicating that the effect of the rainy system will diminish and temperatures will increase towards seasonal norms. However, he warned that strong winds may occur in some areas during rainfall.

Alkan mentioned that 35 to 40 kilograms of rainfall per square meter occurred in some places, while more than 50 kilograms of rainfall occurred around Niğde. He reminded the public to be cautious and take precautions against sudden floods and waterlogging.
