Last year, the “Route Salvation Bicycle Tour” held nationwide was conducted internationally this year with the participation of 115 professional athletes from 18 different countries. The first start of the tour, which covers 5 provinces, was given in Samsun.
The start of the 2nd International Route Salvation Bicycle Tour (Tour of Route Salvation), organized in cooperation with the Samsun Governorship, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, TBF, and SAMKON, was launched from the Tobacco Pier in Samsun with the participation of the protocol on August 30 – September 2, 2024. Cyclists, who made statements before the start, expressed their pride that Samsun is hosting an international organization on such a meaningful day.
Before the race, in which Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, Samsun Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, Samsun Garrison Commander Gazi Lieutenant General Davut Ala, and Kaya Taşçı gave the start, Governor Orhan Tavlı presented the Turkish flag to the cyclists who will go to the founding assembly in Ankara.
In the first stage, where 115 professional athletes from 8 teams from 18 different countries (Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Iran, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Philippines, France, Netherlands, Ukraine, Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, and Venezuela) are pedaling, cyclists will cover 151.1 km in the Samsun-Yakakent stage. Cyclists will also compete in the 2nd stage, which is the Havza-Amasya stage, covering 133.7 km, the 3rd stage, which is the Amasya-Çorum stage, with a length of 163.6 km, and the final stage, the 4th stage, the Çankırı-Ankara stage, which is 166.4 km long.
On the day the first race was launched, the races for children categories were also started. The bicycle races were full of exciting moments.
