TDV provided educational support to over 300,000 students.

Izani Turan, the General Director of the Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV), reported that with the support of philanthropists, educational and scholarship support has been provided to more than 300,000 students.

TDV General Director Izani Turan stated that they continue this educational campaign with the awareness that investments in education are investments in the future. Turan emphasized that they are a Foundation that prioritizes education in every field, stating, “As members of a religion whose first command is ‘Read’, we provide dormitory, scholarship, and course opportunities to thousands of students from both domestic and international backgrounds every year with 14 different scholarship programs. By supporting local and international students at the secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels, we help realize the dreams of young people who will shape the future.”

Opportunity for students from 114 different countries

Turan provided information that they offer educational opportunities to students from 114 different countries, primarily from Turkey, as part of their educational activities, stating, “We support youth in pursuit of science and knowledge with the entrusted resources of our philanthropists. In this context, we open educational institutions such as higher education student dormitories, student houses, kindergartens, colleges, and universities; we establish international Anatolian imam hatip high schools, international theology programs, and overseas educational institutions, thus providing educational opportunities to students from 114 different countries and building bridges of hearts among nations.”

Turan announced that a total of 5,840 students benefited from domestic and international scholarship programs in the 2023-2024 academic year, and since the foundation was established, more than 300,000 students have received scholarship and educational support. Turan conveyed that they will continue to expand educational activities and various supports to better prepare young people for the future.

Turan also touched upon the positive discrimination they practice regarding support in education, saying, “Our Foundation provides scholarships and educational support to hafiz students, children from needy families, and students who reside in our dormitories and continue in our educational programs.”

Turan mentioned that philanthropists who wish to support the Foundation’s educational campaign can donate 25 TL by sending an SMS with the word “EDUCATION” to 5601, or can support the campaign via the website bagis.tdv.org or the TDV Mobile Donation application. Turan noted that the donations will meet various needs of students, such as accommodation, meals, and stationery.
