The Niğde Municipality Project Promotion Office has been opened.

Niğde Municipality has opened a Project Promotion Office on the entrance floor of the municipal service building, designed with the latest technological capabilities to enable citizens to follow the investments brought to the city and ongoing projects.

In the Project Promotion Office, where the implemented projects are conveyed to citizens through written and visual documents, investments made in the city and recreational areas can also be explored in three dimensions using VR glasses within the framework of virtual reality technology. The Project Promotion Office, opened by Niğde Municipality to allow citizens to track completed and ongoing projects that ensure the transformation and development of the city through its massive projects, is attracting great interest. In the Project Promotion Office, among the most important projects in our country are the ‘Castle and Surroundings Protection and Renewal Project’, the ‘Old Industrial Site Urban Transformation and Development Project’ which will make its location the most important attraction center in the city, and the ‘Akkaya Advanced Biological Treatment Plant’ that has saved the city from years of bad odors and environmental pollution. Hundreds of projects that have been brought to Niğde in all areas of life, especially transportation, education, culture, art, and sports investments, are being introduced to citizens by officials with both written and visual documents. The Project Promotion Office, which operates under the Niğde Municipality Press and Public Relations Department, also allows exploration of important investments brought by Niğde Municipality to the city, as well as the historical and natural beauties of the city using virtual reality technology. Citizens can explore the Treatment Plant, Tabal Gastronomy House, Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Gebere Dam Recreation Area in three dimensions with VR glasses. Additionally, experiences such as ziplining, ATV rides, and giant swings in the recreation area can be experienced through VR glasses. Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir stated that they are pleased that the Project Promotion Office, which offers citizens who cannot physically visit the projects and investments brought to the city the opportunity to see them through the virtual reality program, is being intensely visited by the public. Mayor Özdemir expressed that the purpose of opening the Project Promotion Office is to ensure that citizens can see which investments are made in Niğde and which projects are being carried out, using technological facilities to visualize it. He said, “Our Project Promotion Office serves an important function in allowing citizens to see what services the municipality is providing, where they are being done, and how they are being done, as a municipality that is a pioneer of accountable and transparent municipal management in Turkey.”

Mayor Özdemir added, “Not only are projects being promoted in the Project Promotion Office; we are also collecting ideas, thoughts, and suggestions from our citizens who come here, contributing to the development of every aspect of the city, allowing our citizens to have a brick in the city we are building for the future.”
