Stray dogs roaming in packs pose a danger.

In the Balışeyh district of Kırıkkale, street dogs that are claimed to have been brought in by vehicles from different cities are roaming in packs, causing concern among the residents. Mayor Hilmi Şen expressed his discomfort regarding this situation, pointing out that the stray dogs left from outside the district pose a danger.

Balışeyh Mayor Hilmi Şen stated that the abandonment of stray dogs in the district is a significant problem, and that they are taking precautions to ensure that citizens are not victimized. In a statement to İhlas News Agency, Mayor Şen highlighted the issues related to stray dogs. He mentioned that they are taking measures for the packs of street dogs to prevent citizens from being harmed.

Mayor Şen expressed that they are trying to care for the street dogs with the current resources of the municipality, but emphasized that they need more support in this regard. “Our municipality has limited resources. We are trying to feed the animals with bread and food obtained from bakeries. However, this is not a permanent solution. We request that our government allocate special budgets for this issue, especially for small municipalities. This way, we can prevent the suffering of both the animals and the citizens,” he stated.

Şen noted that they are taking precautions due to concerns that the stray dogs left in the district could harm children and other residents. He said, “We are animal lovers, and we are doing our best. However, dogs are being left in groups near areas close to the Samsun road, which creates a hardship for us.”

Mayor Şen expressed that the funds to be created for municipalities in small districts would significantly contribute to both the protection of street animals and the safety of the district’s residents, calling on the authorities to take action on this issue.
