To solve the traffic problems experienced during the entry and exit to Pursaklar from Özal Boulevard, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has taken action and is nearing completion of the “Pursaklar Alternative Entry-Exit Boulevard and Underpass” project. The project, which is 98% complete, will open the direction from Esenboğa Airport to the city center to traffic on the evening of August 25. It is aimed to complete all other district entry-exit connection roads by August 30.

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues to take significant steps to address the chronic traffic problem in the capital. The “Pursaklar Alternative Entry-Exit Boulevard and Underpass” project, which will alleviate the traffic difficulties caused by the insufficiency of capacity of the U-turn underpass used during entry and exit to the Pursaklar district via Protokol Road (Özal Boulevard), is nearing completion.

Expected to be completed by August 30

The Pursaklar Underpass, built on Özal Boulevard, which is located on Protokol Road, will provide a new entry-exit point to the district. The underpass, which is 700 meters long and consists of a total of 6 lanes (3 lanes in each direction), will create a connection road to the intersection at the Beylerbeyi-Emek Street junction with the junction built on top of it, allowing vehicles coming to and leaving from Pursaklar to access all directions from Protokol Road. In the project, which is 98% complete, the direction from Esenboğa Airport to the city center will open to traffic on the evening of August 25, with the completion of all other district entry-exit connection roads targeted for August 30.

Providing information about the project, Ufuk Yıldız, the Construction Controller of the Department of Studies and Projects, stated, “Currently, 98% of our bridge’s construction is complete. Asphalt works continue in the underpass and side roads within the scope of our project. With the completion of the project, we will connect the Pursaklar district with the Karacaören Neighborhood. At the same time, by creating a second alternative junction for the Pursaklar district, we will reduce the traffic density in the district and ensure traffic order and safety.”
