As part of the “Fish Restocking Project” of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 150,000 juvenile fish delivered to the Gölbaşı District Agriculture Directorate were released into Lake Mogan, with the support of Gölbaşı Municipality, to increase biodiversity following the completion of significant cleaning efforts.

In cooperation with Gölbaşı Municipality and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, waste, mucilage, algae, and weeds on the water surface were cleaned from Lake Mogan. To contribute to the ecosystem and support the fish population, 150,000 juvenile fish were released into the lake.

The fish supplied by Gölbaşı District Governorship and Gölbaşı District Agriculture Directorate were released into their natural habitat with the support of vehicles, equipment, and personnel from Gölbaşı Municipality, as part of the “Fish Restocking Project” conducted by the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquatic Products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

With the juvenile fish released by the personnel of Gölbaşı Municipality, it was aimed to protect local fish species and strengthen the ecological balance of the lake for the sustainable use of aquatic products and their legacy for future generations.

Officials from Gölbaşı Municipality stated that the cleaning efforts that have largely been completed will continue for Lake Mogan to regain its former beauty and emphasized that with the fish stocking efforts, recreational fishing in the district will be developed.
