With this signed protocol, it is intended to ensure that mukhtars resolve the social, legal, psychological, health, and administrative issues they encounter in their regions based on academic knowledge. “We will strive to provide better service together with our mukhtars, who are entrusted to us by our President”
Before the signing ceremony, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül spoke to the press, stating, “We will provide training to a total of 961 mukhtars in Istanbul in collaboration with Istanbul University and Marmara University. Confederations formed by our mukhtars will support this. Our Mukhtar Department will coordinate this matter. On the Anatolian side, together with Marmara University, and on the European side, together with Istanbul University, we will provide the information that our mukhtars want to learn regarding any issues, especially the problems they face while serving citizens. This will be provided in the form of basic principles of our mukhtars, generally with the support of our universities. I thank our university rectors, our professors, and the colleagues coordinating this work, as well as the mukhtars who will participate. I believe that with this, our mukhtars will provide better services to our citizens. We will always stand by our mukhtars. Our President entrusted our mukhtars to the Provincial Governors and District Governors. We will strive to provide better service together with our mukhtars for the trust given to us by our President. May our protocol be beneficial and auspicious,” he expressed.
“We will explain how they can better assist our citizens”
After his speech, Governor Gül answered questions from journalists, stating, “It will start from next week. We have a one-week training period. In terms of content, we will provide short, concise information to our mukhtars primarily regarding public services and in every area where citizens say, ‘what could this issue be, how can you help?’ We will explain to our mukhtars the communication channels related to every aspect of life, especially when we think of the mukhtar and say, let’s ask the mukhtar to solve this. We will explain how they can better assist our citizens. We will do this through our universities.”
