Investment in an internationally branded hotel in Duzce

With the initiatives of Duzce Mayor Dr. Faruk Ozlu, an investment for an international branded chain hotel is being brought to Duzce. The construction of the hotel is planned to start in September.

Contracts have been signed for Duzce’s only international branded hotel. The agreement was signed between Mayor Dr. Faruk Ozlu, who facilitated the hotel investment for Duzce, and businessman and investor Necip Carikci. The signing ceremony was also attended by Duzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Erdogan Bıyık and Hilton Turkey’s Investment Director Funda Eratıcı.

Carikci: “Hopefully, this hotel will benefit our Duzce”

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Necip Carikci mentioned that Mayor Faruk Ozlu provided significant support in bringing the investment to Duzce. He stated that they would also bring a congress center with an area of 1200 square meters and an outdoor wedding hall of 1200 square meters along with the total of 120 rooms in the hotel to Duzce, saying, “We have been discussing with our minister (Faruk Ozlu) for 5 years. We said there is a need for a hotel in Duzce. We made an agreement with Hilton. Our project starts this year. Currently, ground surveys are being conducted. We want to start construction in September. We plan to bring this hotel to our Duzce by the end of 2025 or June 2026. Hopefully, this hotel will be good for our Duzce and bring benefit. Hopefully, there will be more to come.”

Eratıcı: “They will have a wonderful hotel”

Funda Eratıcı, Investment Director of Hilton Turkey, stated that they made a reconnaissance trip to Duzce at the invitation of Necip Carikci and realized the need for a hotel, saying, “We were very pleased with what we saw in Duzce. We have many guests coming for various factories and business. Previously, day trips had to be made. Thanks to our new investment, they will have a wonderful hotel to stay in. The hotel will, of course, not only be important for visitors but will also be an important place for the residents of Duzce. We will enjoy being a part of Duzce’s social life with its halls and restaurants.”

Erdogan Bıyık: “We believe it will add great value to Duzce”

Duzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Erdogan Bıyık mentioned that they have been working seriously in the field of tourism and stated that there have been efforts and requests from Mayor Faruk Ozlu for the construction of a 5-star hotel for 5 years. Bıyık said, “Necip is a very old friend of ours. He is a valuable businessman with significant investments in Bolu, whom we have known for a long time and who has many friends in Duzce. First of all, I thank our minister. He truly has significant support in acquiring this hotel. We believe that when completed, it will add a great value to Duzce. We also thank Necip for putting his hand under the stone. Hopefully, more will follow. Duzce is developing and growing. We believe it will reach much better places with our minister’s vision.”

Mayor Ozlu: “When you want something passionately, it definitely happens”

Mayor Faruk Ozlu expressed his happiness in realizing another dream, stating, “The project of bringing a 5-star or branded hotel to Duzce is actually a project I thought of 5 years ago when I took office. Mr. Necip implemented this in Bolu. We have been discussing with him for a long time. Actually, we had offered this proposal to other investor friends before, but they did not materialize. Necip Carikci took on the responsibility of establishing an international chain hotel in Duzce similar to the one in Bolu. I express my gratitude to him. Duzce had a deficiency. This deficiency will be eliminated. The Hilton brand is important. The Hilton Hotel, established in Istanbul in 1955, has added great value. We are extremely happy that the Hilton brand will be in Duzce. I am very happy to see another dream of ours becoming a reality. When you desire something passionately, it definitely happens. I wish good fortune to our Duzce.”

Ground survey works have started for the hotel investment to be built on the Bahçeşehir connection road in the direction of Duzce. The hotel construction is planned to start in September and to be opened to service by mid-2026.
