Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, in his speech at the opening of a sports hall he attended, stated, “One of the conditions for cities to be lived-in spaces is to have social, cultural, and sports facilities.”
The opening ceremony was attended by AK Party Kayseri MPs Şaban Çopuroğlu and Dursun Ataş, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, Deputy Governor Erkan Kaçmaz, and citizens. In his opening speech, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın said, “One of the most important conditions for cities to become lived-in spaces is to have facilities where social, cultural, and sports activities can take place. Here, it is not only expected that the state and municipalities will do this, but the private sector should also take initiative and revitalize this sector, which also shows the courage of these brothers. I thank them as well. With the contributions and special efforts of our metropolitan municipality, Kayseri was declared a sports city in 2024. At the same time, our Talas also supports Talasgücü Belediyespor, which has transitioned from amateur to professional leagues in 2022, 2023, and 2024, in both U14 and U19 Turkey Championships, and we have prepared all our facilities for those who want to engage in sports. Furthermore, Talasgücü Belediyespor is currently continuing in the 3rd League. I would also like to mention our sports activities, which our children have registered as a sports factory, and which are ongoing here day and night, winter and summer.”
AK Party Kayseri MP Dursun Ataş also stated, “Of course, cities are developing. Indeed, Talas is the most developed district in Kayseri. We must not overlook the efforts of our mayor here, and we thank him for that. The increase of such facilities will keep young people away from bad habits on the streets, and these facilities will enable them to have a sound body, sound mind, and strong thoughts. Our mayor said, ‘Kayseri is referred to as a Sports City.’ The number of such facilities needs to increase. From what I see in Talas, they are increasing and opening up. Hopefully, they will keep our youth away from bad habits on the streets.”
After the speeches, the sports hall was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the protocol.
