President Özcan: “Malatya is a rising value in agriculture and livestock.”

The President of the Malatya Commodity Exchange, Ramazan Özcan, stated that Malatya is an increasingly valuable place in agriculture and livestock, and mentioned that the only food analysis laboratory in the city provides significant contributions to producers.

Ramazan Özcan visited the MAKİMTEK Food Analysis Laboratory and made statements regarding the laboratory’s contributions to the region. Özcan indicated that Malatya has shown significant development in the agriculture and livestock sectors and that the MAKİMTEK laboratory provides critical services, especially for food safety and exporting producers.

Emphasizing that Malatya has made great progress in agriculture and livestock in recent years, Ramazan Özcan visited the MAKİMTEK Food Analysis Laboratory located in the Malatya 2nd Organized Industrial Zone to get information about its operations. President Özcan stated that Malatya is on the way to becoming a very important province in agriculture and livestock, saying, “It is of great importance to meet needs such as food control and analysis laboratories for the continued rise in this field. The food control and analysis laboratory needed by the region has been met with MAKİMTEK.”

“The most comprehensive laboratory in the region”

Indicating that the Food Analysis Laboratory is one of the most comprehensive laboratories established in Malatya in recent years, Özcan said, “This laboratory, which was established four years ago, conducts very important analyses approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, especially those demanded by our exporters. The laboratory provides critical services for firms that export agricultural products, animal foods, and engage in animal husbandry in our region. All the analyses we need, especially in food and feed testing, are conducted here.”

“A great convenience for exporters”

Özcan also pointed out that MAKİMTEK provides great convenience for producers and exporters in the region, stating, “This is a great advantage for producers both in Malatya and in neighboring provinces. We no longer have to travel to cities like Mersin, Adana, Gaziantep, or Izmir for these important analyses and tests. These processes are now carried out in our vicinity, in the second Organized Industrial Zone, within İŞGEM. This has provided great convenience in terms of both time and cost.”

“The ochratoxin problem is now being solved here”

Addressing the recent issue of ochratoxin in exported apricots, Özcan stated, “Recently, we had a problem especially related to ochratoxin. Very important analyses are being carried out here regarding this issue. Many analyses and tests, including ochratoxin, can now be conducted here. This is a significant gain for our producers.”
