The Denizli 2nd Dried Fruits and Machines Fair, organized under the leadership of the Denizli Chamber of Commerce (DTO), brought together representatives of Turkey’s dried fruits sector, which has an export volume of 5 billion dollars. DTO President Uğur Erdoğan stated that they want to sustain the increasing number of fairs with regional fairs, saying, “Fairs are one of the most effective elements of production, employment, and sales.”

Supported by the Denizli Chamber of Commerce, the Snack Expo 2024 Denizli 2nd Dried Fruits and Machines Fair opened its doors to visitors at the EGS Park Exhibition Area. The opening of the fair was attended by Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan, DTO Board Chairman Uğur Erdoğan, Denizli Chamber of Industry (DSO) Board Chairman Selim Kasapoğlu, representatives of professional organizations, and sector representatives.

The fair, which brought together companies engaged in the manufacture, export, import, wholesale, and retail sale of snacks, dried fruits, chips, coffee, chocolate, and confectionery, as well as the dried fruit machines sector, received intense interest from the first day. Participants had the opportunity to see the latest technological developments in the dried fruit sector and machinery firsthand. The fair will remain open until the 17th of Kazım Pazar.

Pointing out that Denizli is increasing the number of fairs by diversifying its sectors, DTO Board Chairman Uğur Erdoğan stated, “In the coming days, our domestic and international programs will continue intensively. The Dried Fruits and Machines Fair has a special significance for Denizli. Looking at Turkey’s exports, we are making around 5 billion dollars in dried fruit exports. In our Denizli, we are continuing to contribute to exports, production, and industry by increasing our ability to produce dried fruit machines and also machine manufacturing every day. Our goal and effort are to make fairs strong and effective. Although there may be some turbulence at times, we want to continue increasing fairs both domestically and abroad. Because fairs are one of the most effective elements of sales and production. Until three years ago, there were no fairs for dried fruits, dried fruit machines, or automotive in Denizli. However, when we look at the current point, we see that as we increase our sector diversity, the organization of fairs has also increased. The increase in these fairs significantly contributes to production, employment, and exports.”

“We will organize regional fairs in the future”

Emphasizing the importance of participation and support for the fair as the Denizli Chamber of Commerce, President Uğur Erdoğan stated, “As DTO, we support fair organizations. We continue our support in terms of both participation and setting up stands. In the future, we will organize fair organizations on a regional basis. That is, we will consult with the chamber presidents of the İzmir, Antalya, Denizli, Aydın, and Uşak regions to make the Aegean Region more effective, stronger, and more profitable in all sectors. Today, it is extremely important that all our mayors, our institutions, and our civil society organizations are here. This is important in terms of owning this business. If we have any shortcomings or areas where we are lagging, we will discuss these together and consult to solve these problems. InshaAllah, we will also hold a meeting regarding this fair area in the upcoming days. We will work to make this place more beneficial and usable.”

“We create excitement and awareness as DTO”

Stressing that they constantly encourage their members to participate in fairs, President Erdoğan said:
“When looking at the chambers on the scale of Turkey, thank God, we are among the leading organizations that take our companies and members from Denizli to all corners of the world in the strongest, most intense, and effective way. This is not only due to the fact that the Denizli Chamber of Commerce has 23,000 members but also because we have members in every product area produced, manufactured, and sold in Denizli, making our hand quite strong. The presence of the Denizli Chamber of Commerce at fairs is of great importance not only for quality, quantity, and sales but also for creating excitement and awareness there. Today, we are participating strongly in this fair with our Denizli Chamber of Commerce family, our management, our women’s branches, and our youth executive committee, along with our council member friends. We thank all the companies, especially those from Denizli, that have set up stands here from outside the city.”

Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan wished the participants a profitable fair, saying, “We are happy about the growth of the dried fruit sector. When we think of roasted chickpeas, Denizli comes to mind. Denizli is also assertive in producing dried fruit machines. Fairs are very valuable for promoting both the products and Denizli. We want to improve the fair area. We are taking the requests regarding this into account. We will provide more support for the fairs.”

Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu emphasized the importance of economic and social development, stating, “We support everyone who adds value to the city. There are some requests regarding our fair area. It is our job to improve the fair area. The business world will meet with our chamber and union presidents to discuss how to organize this fair area. It is very delightful and important for us that the dried fruit and machines have such significant potential in this city.”
