In the Efeler district of Aydın, the construction work at the Pınarbaşı Swimming Pools, which had been idle for a long time, continues uninterrupted, while the semi-Olympic swimming pool designed to FINA standards continues to rise in the region.
The swimming pool located in the Pınarbaşı area, within the borders of Zafer Neighborhood in Efeler, was built in the 1950s and after being used for a long time, has been in an idle state for approximately 15 years. The works initiated for the redevelopment of the swimming pool are ongoing without interruption. The construction works, which started within the scope of the Pınarbaşı Open and Closed Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool project included in the investment program of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, are gaining momentum, and it is aimed to complete the pool as soon as possible and put it into service. Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Director Cenap Fillikçioğlu, who examined the works on-site, received information from the authorities regarding the construction process.
The Open and Closed Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool, with a construction area of 2,902 square meters, will consist of a basement, ground floor, and +1 floor. The facility, which has a two-story design, will feature a 350-seat grandstand on the upper floor and a 150-seat grandstand on the lower floor. In addition to sports, the facility, which also prioritizes social interaction, will include various amenities such as a meeting room, individual training room, cafeteria, referee rooms, and modern changing rooms. Furthermore, the pool will also comply with FINA standards.
In a statement regarding the matter, the Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate stated, “The open and closed semi-Olympic swimming pools being constructed in the Pınarbaşı area by the Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate will strengthen the city’s sports infrastructure and provide significant contributions to the region. With the rapidly ongoing construction works, these modern facilities, which are planned to be completed soon, are expected to give a significant boost to sports activities in the region. After the completion of the swimming pools, swimming training will be provided as part of the projects of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, offering an important opportunity for the development of young athletes. Additionally, these facilities will become a significant center for hosting swimming events at both local and national levels.”
