The Continuous Education Application and Research Center (ULUSEM) of Bursa Uludağ University brought together a 46-member Advisory Board consisting of representatives from the public sector, private sector, and NGOs.

The Advisory Board, aimed at providing suggestions to ULUSEM management and contributing in necessary situations, convened under the chairmanship of BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz. In the meeting where the activities of the year 2024 were evaluated, Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz thanked everyone serving on the board.

Contributing to the goal of being a research university

Rector Yılmaz pointed out that they have the status of a research university; “This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary. We have half a century of academic experience. In addition, we are among the 23 research universities in Turkey. This is an extremely important league for us. Since the first day we took office, we have been making intense efforts to rise in this ranking. Our activities are evaluated on a total of 31 parameters. The university’s relations with the city and society are also one of the parameters being evaluated. Thanks to the work we have done in the last year, we have slowly started to see signs of improvement. Considering our potential, we deserve to be much higher. We are working hard to reach those levels. The established ULUSEM Advisory Board will also provide us with valuable contributions in this regard. I wish it to be beneficial,” he said.

Exchange of ideas took place

Ismail Arslanlar, the Provincial Director of Trade, stated that working with ULUSEM on many important issues for Bursa will add value to institutions. BEBKA Secretary General Sabri Bayram emphasized the possibility of cooperating with ULUSEM regarding technical support calls and the trainings in those calls.
