The Ambassador of Ecuador and the SANKON meeting discussed Turkey-Ecuador economic and trade relations.

In a meeting held at the SANKON General Headquarters to strengthen economic and trade relations between Turkey and the Republic of Ecuador, Ecuadorian Ambassador Fanny de Lourdes Puma Puma invited Turkish companies to invest in Ecuador.

A significant meeting was held at the General Headquarters of the Confederation of Industry and Trade (SANKON) aimed at further strengthening the economic, trade, and cultural relations between Turkey and the Republic of Ecuador. During the visit of Ecuador’s Ambassador in Ankara, Ms. Fanny de Lourdes Puma Puma, cooperation opportunities between the two countries and potential future projects were discussed.

In her remarks during the visit, Ambassador Fanny de Lourdes Puma Puma stated that the relations between Turkey and Ecuador have a long history and are strengthening day by day. The Ambassador noted that there are deep-rooted connections between Turkey and Ecuador in cultural, political, and economic terms, emphasizing Ecuador’s desire to deepen its relations with Turkey. Ambassador Puma also shared trade data between the two countries and invited Turkish companies to invest in Ecuador, expressing the wish of Ecuadorian companies to invest in Turkey as well.

Ambassador Puma expressed that they are also ready to strengthen existing relations by collaborating with representatives of the Turkish business community during the visit.

SANKON General President Ferudun Cevahiroğlu emphasized the importance of strengthening Turkey-Ecuador economic relations and stated that they are ready to undertake efforts to increase cooperation with the Republic of Ecuador. Cevahiroğlu mentioned plans to organize a Turkey-Ecuador Business Forum and to conduct visits to Ecuador together with Turkish businesspeople, expressing his belief that such steps would contribute to the increase of trade and investments between the two countries.

Opportunities for Cooperation in Health Tourism

Prof. Dr. Aysun Bay, the General President of the Ankara Health Tourism Federation, who was present at the meeting, emphasized that Turkey’s robust infrastructure in health tourism offers a great opportunity for Ecuador. She mentioned that Ecuadorian citizens could benefit from high-quality healthcare services in Turkey and stated that various projects could be implemented to enhance health tourism between the two countries. Prof. Dr. Bay also indicated that transferring Turkey’s experiences in the health sector to Ecuador would be beneficial for both countries.

Representatives from the Turkish Agricultural and Rural Development Federation, Ankara Finance and Investment Projects Federation, Ankara Defense Industry Federation, Ankara Real Estate and Property Federation, Ankara Energy and Mining Federation, Ankara Economy and Development Federation, Ankara Foreign Trade Federation, and Ankara Import and Export Federation also participated in the visit at the SANKON General Headquarters. The meeting addressed topics such as increasing trade between the two countries, promoting investments, and developing joint projects in various areas, including health tourism.
