Stating, “Under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are rapidly progressing towards the goal of completing safe housing and commercial areas,” Ölmeztoprak shared detailed information about the ongoing permanent housing and workplaces in Malatya.
Ölmeztoprak said, “We are in the process of reconstruction, revitalization, and construction in our Malatya. After the Disaster of the Century, we continue to implement comprehensive projects aimed at recovering and providing safe, sustainable infrastructure and superstructure to every corner of Malatya. In this context, accelerating the transition process for our citizens affected by the earthquake and completing permanent housing and workplaces as soon as possible are among our primary objectives. In this regard, we continue to rapidly advance towards the goal of completing safe housing and commercial areas in our housing projects launched by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), Emlak Konut, and our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change under the leadership and support of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the context of post-earthquake reconstruction and revitalization efforts in Malatya, projects are being carried out in a total of 54 reserve areas, including Akçadağ and Doğanşehir. Projects initiated in 43 reserve areas in our city center aim to create a total of 40,785 independent units in 71 phases, including 68 phases. Work is ongoing in line with these targets. So far, 39 phases have been tendered, and the tender process for 10 phases is still ongoing. We are also intensively working on 19 phases in 15 areas. We have identified projects for a total of 80,665 rights holders in the city center and rural areas of Malatya. We are making a great effort for our citizens to have permanent housing and workplaces. In this process, the construction of 79,702 housing units and workplaces has been planned. So far, the delivery of 17,438 permanent housing units, for which the lottery has been drawn, has been carried out to their rightful owners. We have created new settlement areas in 25,701 of the 79,702 independent units, with both infrastructure and superstructure. Of these, 40,785 are located in the city center, and 13,216 are in rural areas. Currently, the tender for 56,779 housing units has been completed, and construction works are ongoing.”
Deputy Ölmeztoprak also made statements regarding the strengthening of Malatya’s transportation network and infrastructure and the high-speed train project: “Our work is continuing to strengthen the modern transportation network and infrastructure of our Malatya. With our Malatya Ring Road Project, we are working to establish a wide network that will revitalize commercial activities and ease intra-city and intercity transportation. We aim to complete 38.2 kilometers of this 53.5-kilometer road by the end of the year. We are also working to alleviate the traffic load in our city with an alternative viaduct and a new route to the Beylerderesi Viaduct to prevent any traffic problems in the new settlement area. We are trying to strengthen connections related to the High-Speed Train Project. With the Narlı-Malatya High-Speed Train Project, we will bring Malatya closer to all corners of our country. With this project, we aim to reach a freight transportation capacity of approximately 8.5 million tons per year, further strengthening our trade.
