The accreditation success of OMÜ Faculty of Tourism.

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Tourism’s Tourism Management Bachelor’s Program successfully achieved accreditation from the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK) twice, first in 2020 and then in 2022, as part of its active accreditation efforts that began at the end of 2018, each for a duration of 2 years.

During the most recent TURAK accreditation application process, the evidence presented regarding the report and processes successfully prepared by the Tourism Management Department was submitted during the accreditation site visit led by Prof. Dr. İsmail Kızılırmak, with the participation of evaluators Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Yurtseven, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Toker, Ali Cenk Yorulmaz, and Nil Ayduğan.

As part of the site visit, the Faculty management conducted interviews with department heads, faculty members, research assistants, administrative staff, and stakeholders. The notification report prepared as a result of these meetings was presented to the Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın.

During the presentation ceremony, the strengths of the department and areas open for development were discussed. The ceremony was attended by Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhal Çilingir Ük, and faculty members.

Terme Mayor Kul visited Rector Aydın

Terme Mayor Kul visited Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and wished success to Rector Aydın and her team in their new roles. Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın thanked her guest for the kind visit and good wishes. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding training and R&D projects that would strengthen the city and the region in the context of collaborations. The visit concluded with the presentation of gifts and a commemorative photo.

Rector Aydın’s return visit to Samsun University Rector Mahmut Aydın

OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın made a return visit to Samsun University (SAMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Aydın. In the meeting held at the Rectorate office, OMU Rector Fatma Aydın and SAMU Rector Mahmut Aydın evaluated potential collaborative projects between the two universities in the field of education. The visit, attended by OMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, and SAMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Selahattin Kaynak, Prof. Dr. Salih Kesgin, concluded with a commemorative photo.
