President Cavusoglu; “The name of women will be everywhere”

The 25th Ordinary General Assembly of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Women’s Assembly was held. The general assembly, held at the Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Denizli Member of Parliament Sema Silkin Ün, Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, his wife Nilgün Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Chairman Ali Marım, Bozkurt Mayor Birsen Çelik, district mayors, and invited guests.
Speaking about a Republic crowned with democracy that women deserve the most, and the importance that Atatürk placed on women, MP Ün stated, “There is probably nowhere in the world where the term heroism is used for us women. This is unique to our Turkey, unique to us, unique to Turkish women.”
“We are ready to do whatever is required of us”
Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed that he dreams of a Denizli where happy people live, stating, “And in this journey of dreams, we now have only one aim. That is a Denizli where women smile, and the city is happy. We hope to achieve this together with you.” Thanking everyone who has contributed to the Women’s Assembly so far, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, “We believe that the women of this city can stand on their own feet without needing others and can build their future without answering to anyone. At this point, we are ready to do whatever is necessary. We will build a system together where the name of women is present everywhere.” Çavuşoğlu indicated that the voice and presence of women in Denizli would be felt at the highest level, stating, “We will collectively build the process of creating a Denizli where there is no concern for the future.”
Four candidates competed
After the speeches, the voting commenced. In the general assembly where the lists of Meral Alten, Nurten Karakış, Gülnur Oymak, and Şefika Bezirgan competed, 217 delegates voted. The new board of the Women’s Assembly, won by Meral Alten, consists of the following names: “Büşra Bağcı, Bilge Başöz, Neslihan Cabılar, Nezahat Candoğan, Fercem Erbay, Fatma Karataşlı, Aysun Nalbant, Selma Ger Öğün, Şadiye Özkaya, Asuman Rabuş, Gamze Soylu, Tülay Sücüllü, Şebnem Dal Üzülmez.”
