Inegöl Municipality continues its fight against illegal constructions. Inegöl Mayor Alper Taban stated that every illegal structure will inevitably be demolished, saying, “Every demolished structure is a national asset. Let’s not waste our national wealth knowing the end results.” Sanctions are also being applied to those who supply materials for illegal constructions.

Municipal teams carried out the demolition of an illegal structure in Gündüzlü Neighborhood.

Every illegal structure will definitely be demolished

Evaluating the illegal constructions, Mayor Alper Taban called on citizens to act in accordance with the laws. Stating that illegal structures pose risks both architecturally and in terms of safety, Mayor Taban said, “Every structure built without supervision creates an additional security threat in our city, which is located in an earthquake zone. Unfortunately, there is no forgiveness or remedy for this. We experienced the latest example painfully during the Kahramanmaraş earthquake. At the same time, an illegal structure means the wastage of national wealth. The money, time, and effort spent on illegal construction will be wasted with the demolition decision. Every illegal structure will one day inevitably be demolished. Every demolished structure is also a national asset. Let’s not waste our national wealth knowing the end results.”

Both penal action and demolition

Mayor Taban also reminded that penal actions are applied along with demolitions in illegal constructions, stating: “In illegal constructions, both penal actions are applied and then demolition decisions are enforced. The application of penal action and the payment of the fine do not make the illegal structure legal. There is a perception among our citizens that once they pay the fine, the structure is now legal. This is not correct.”

Penalties are also applied to those supplying materials for illegal constructions

“I would like to emphasize that no business licenses are granted for illegal structures. Additionally, the Provincial Agriculture Directorate applies administrative sanctions to illegal constructions built on agricultural lands. Similarly, sanctions are applied to individuals and organizations that provide concrete and services for illegal constructions. Both national wealth is wasted. The materials used in the structure become waste, and the demolition costs are also collected from the illegal structure owner. A criminal complaint is also filed against the structure owner with the prosecutor’s office.
