TIKA is transferring Turkey’s experience in search and rescue to Tajikistan.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), in collaboration with the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkey (AFAD) and the Tajikistan Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, organized a ‘Tajikistan Search and Rescue in Nature’ event in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkey (AFAD), and the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan organized a ‘Basic Search and Rescue Training in Nature’ in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
During the training, conducted with special equipment provided by TIKA to the Tajikistan Emergency Situations Committee, the fundamentals of search and rescue were shared with participants both theoretically and practically, including techniques for search and rescue in nature, incident management, rope and knot techniques, and safe evacuation methods. At the certificate ceremony held after the 6-day training, Turkey’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Umut Acar, General Rustam Nazarzoda, the Chairman of the Tajikistan Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Committee, and Ibrahim Ethem Ünal, TIKA’s Coordinator in Dushanbe, attended.
Ambassador Acar emphasized the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Tajikistan in his speech, stating that this program for Tajikistan’s search and rescue teams would contribute to strengthening relations between countries in the field of disaster management.
General Nazarzoda, the Chairman of the Tajikistan Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Committee, expressed satisfaction with the developing cooperation with Turkey in the field of search and rescue in order to produce common solutions to the common problem of natural disasters faced by humanity.
The program, which includes theoretical and practical training under the Emergency and Disaster Response Training Program (ADAMEP), aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of personnel who will play active roles in disaster and emergency response processes.
