Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Kızılkaya-Bozova-Korkuteli road in Antalya, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “With our project, we are establishing the shortest transportation opportunity between Central Anatolia and the Western Mediterranean, connecting the interior parts of our country with the southern region…”
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Kızılkaya-Bozova-Korkuteli road in Antalya, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated, “With our project, we will establish the shortest transportation opportunity between Central Anatolia and the Western Mediterranean, thus providing faster and more comfortable transportation between the inner parts of our country and the southern regions.”
Following the event “AI in the Sky: A Unified Approach with ICAO” and his visit to the Antalya Governorship and AK Party Provincial Presidency, Minister Uraloğlu inaugurated the Kızılkaya-Bozova-Korkuteli road. Emphasizing that Antalya has become a global star of diplomacy alongside its tourism and agriculture sectors, especially with the Antalya Diplomacy Forum held annually, Uraloğlu said, “As a ministry, we work tirelessly with the awareness that every investment made in Antalya is an investment in Turkey’s prestige. The tourism sector, described as a factory without a chimney, has its heart beating in Antalya. At the same time, Antalya is the backbone of the agricultural sector in our country and is one of the leading cities in agricultural exports. Whether or not the municipalities are with us, whether they vote for us or not, we continue our projects for Antalya uninterruptedly.”
Describing investments, Minister Uraloğlu stated that they have implemented numerous services in Antalya as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure:
“Since 2002, we have invested 190 billion 500 million lira in transportation and communication infrastructure in Antalya. We increased the length of divided roads from 197 kilometers in 2002 to 715 kilometers and the length of hot mix asphalt roads from 122 kilometers to 1,020 kilometers. We opened the Antalya Western Ring Road. We constructed the Başköy, Korkuteli, Kirişçiler, and Isparta interchanges on the Antalya Northern Ring Road. We completed the Mediterranean Western Coastal Road as a divided road. We commissioned the Phaselis Tunnel within the scope of the Antalya-Kemer-Tekirova-Finike Road. Thus, we strengthened the transportation of Antalya’s tourism paradise towns such as Demre, Finike, Kumluca, Kemer, Kaş, and Kalkan. We built the Demirkapı Tunnel and the Alanya-Kuşyuvası-Taşkent Road Tunnels. We opened the Kızılkaya-Antalya Road, Antalya-Alanya-Gazipaşa Road, Kumuca-Finike Road, Demre City Transition, Kaş Ring Road, Kalkan City Transition, Akseki Connection Road, Kızılcadağ-Elmalı Road, Konaklı-Güzelbağ Road, and the connection roads to Antalya City Hospital.”
Continuing with 23 separate road projects
Minister Uraloğlu announced that as of today, 23 separate road projects, including the Antalya Northern Ring Road, Alanya Eastern Ring Road, Korkuteli-Elmalı Road, Elmalı-Finike Road, and Antalya-Taşağıl-Konya Road, are ongoing with a project cost of 41 billion 601 million lira. He noted that a contract was signed for the construction of the Antalya-Alanya Highway about a month ago. Uraloğlu stated, “We have planned our highway to be 122 kilometers long, consisting of 84 kilometers of main body and 38 kilometers of connection road. Within the scope of our project, we will construct 7 interchanges including Serik Junction, Taşağıl Junction, Manavgat Junction, Manavgat East Junction, Alarahan Junction, Konaklı Junction, and Alanya West Junction, a total of 11,300 meters long with 8 tunnels, 19 viaducts with a length of 7,030 meters, and 4 highway service facilities. Our Antalya-Alanya Highway will meet the increased travel demands related to tourism, especially in the summer months, in a fast, comfortable, and safe manner, and will also serve the trade and agricultural sectors in the region. However, especially the Antalya-Alanya highway project will be an important turning point for regional tourism. Since the traffic density spread throughout the year will significantly decrease thanks to the highway, this will provide tourists and citizens with a more comfortable and stress-free travel experience. Additionally, with the completion of the Antalya-Alanya Highway, we will save 6 billion lira in time and 600 million lira in fuel, totaling 6.6 billion lira annually. We will also contribute to the preservation of Antalya’s and the Taurus Mountains’ unique nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 47,000 tons.”
“We are quickly continuing the construction works of the 9.5-kilometer section”
Stating that the Kızılkaya-Bozova-Korkuteli Road connects Korkuteli with Burdur, Isparta, and the inner regions, Uraloğlu stated, “We have designed the Kızılkaya-Bozova-Korkuteli Road, which currently serves traffic as a single road with surface coating, as a divided road standard with hot bituminous mixture covering a total length of 45 kilometers. We have completed the 30-kilometer section of the road from Kızılkaya to Korkuteli with 2 lanes for going and 2 lanes for returning. The 9 kilometers of this section that we have inaugurated constitutes the Bozova Ring Road. We are also rapidly continuing the construction of the 9.5-kilometer section between the Bozova Ring Road and Korkuteli. With our project, we strengthened traffic safety by providing the comfort of a BSK-covered divided road on the route, which currently serves as a single road with surface coating. By opening the Bozova Ring Road, we also prevented the congestion caused by transit traffic within the city. With our project, we will save a total of 87.5 million lira annually, including 32 million lira in time and 55.5 million lira in fuel. We will also contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 4,362 tons. Additionally, with our project, we will establish the shortest transportation opportunity between Central Anatolia and the Western Mediterranean, thus providing faster and more comfortable transportation between the inner parts of our country and the southern regions.”
“We have completed the construction of our Gazipaşa Marina with a capacity of 208 yachts”
Minister Uraloğlu also pointed out that investments in Antalya are not limited to road works. “Without spending a single penny from the state treasury, we have also started expansion works at Antalya Airport with an investment value of 927 million euros. We will increase the capacity of our airport from 35 million passengers to 82 million passengers. We are also implementing projects that will make Antalya the yacht tourism center of the Eastern Mediterranean. In previous years, we opened the yacht ports of Alanya and Kaş. We have also completed the construction of our Gazipaşa Marina, which has a capacity of 208 yachts, and we plan to open it to service very soon.”
