Irrigation water projects were discussed in Battalgazi.

Nearly 20 neighborhood mukhtars from the Battalgazi district of Malatya met with Dr. Ercan Gerçek, Deputy Regional Director of the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) 9th Region, to discuss irrigation water issues and projects in the district.
The mukhtars raised the irrigation water difficulties they face in their neighborhoods during the meeting and requested solutions to these problems.
The mukhtars attending the meeting expressed that they are taking joint action to solve the irrigation water problems in their regions. Mehmet Nuri Alan, who made statements on behalf of the mukhtars, stated that they have important information regarding irrigation projects in the district.
Information was provided about the Beypınar and Şilan Dams
Mehmet Nuri Alan announced that the planning and project phase of one of the most anticipated projects, the Beypınar Dam, is aimed to be completed in 2025, and the investment tender will be held at the end of the same year. He also mentioned that they expect the preliminary examination report for the Şilan Dam Project to be completed in 2025 and that there are no obstacles for the project, stating that the Şilan Dam will provide a serious solution to the irrigation problem in the region with its 95-meter wall height and approximately 30,000 decares of irrigation capacity.
Yarımcahan GES and Yenice Dam projects
Alan also stated that the investment for Yarımcahan GES (Solar Power Plant) has been included in the program and is currently awaiting funds. Regarding the Yenice Dam, he noted that they have received information about the construction phase and that this dam is expected to be completed quickly, emphasizing that it will significantly contribute to the irrigation needs of the Battalgazi district.
Funding is awaited for İspendere Pond and other projects
In addition, it was expressed that another project, the İspendere Pond, which will provide a solution to the irrigation water problem in Battalgazi district, has also been included in the investment program, but funding expectations for this project continue.
The mukhtars thanked Dr. Ercan Gerçek, Deputy Regional Director of DSİ 9th Region, for his interest in solving the irrigation water problems in their regions and expressed their hopes for the projects to be realized as soon as possible.
