Yaşar University commemorated Atatürk on November 10.

The founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated with longing at Yaşar University on the 86th anniversary of his death.

Yaşar University commemorated the 86th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with a ceremony. The ceremony began with a wreath-laying at the Atatürk bust located at the Selçuk Yaşar Campus, followed by a moment of silence and the recitation of the Independence March. After the wreath presentation at the ceremony commemorating the 86th year of Atatürk’s passing, the Yaşar University Theater Group performed a play titled “A Journey of Emotions.” Speaking at the ceremony, Yaşar University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Yiğit Kazançoğlu stated:

“Drawing inspiration from the strength of our nation, Atatürk, who dedicated his life to the Turkish nation with his openness, honesty, and courage, was not just a leader but also a statesman who has written his name in history in golden letters as a model for the whole world. Seeing our youth progressing along Atatürk’s path towards scientific thinking, developing original ideas, and striving to elevate our country to the level of contemporary civilization gives us hope and pride. Atatürk also illuminated our path as educators with his words, ‘Raise the youth, provide them with the positive ideas of science and culture. You will meet the brightness of the future with them.’ We continue our efforts at Yaşar University to honor this important saying with utmost dedication. While carrying the responsibility of raising young people who adopt scientific thinking, ask questions, inquire, and research, we remain firmly attached to the values left to us by Atatürk at every step. We see it as our most important duty to raise free and productive individuals in line with the principles and achievements of our Republic. As Yaşar University, we emphasize that we will not stray from the path shown by Atatürk, and we commemorate our great leader with love, respect, and longing, just as we do every November 10.
