The students’ ‘Atatürk Oratory’ was applauded standing.

The ceremony held to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was greeted with prolonged applause for the ‘Atatürk Oratory’ performed by students of Aydın Social Sciences High School.

As every year across the country, Aydın also commemorated Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the 86th anniversary of his passing. Following the commemoration ceremony held in front of the Atatürk Monument by the Aydın Governorship, the program continued with the Atatürk Commemoration Ceremony hosted by the Aydın Provincial Directorate of National Education. In a brief speech at the ceremony, Aydın Provincial Director of National Education Süleyman Ekici stated: “Today, we commemorate once again with respect, gratitude, and longing the founder of our Republic, the great leader of our struggle for independence and future, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on the 86th anniversary of his departure from us, and we share once more the sorrow in our hearts. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has been a symbol of hope and determination during the most challenging times of our country’s struggle for existence. As the Commander-in-Chief of the War of Independence, he raised our nation to its feet and ultimately entrusted us with his greatest achievement, the Republic of Turkey. In the new century of our Republic, we consider it our duty to raise our children, who are the guarantee of our future, in the most equipped manner, with the determination to carry the flag of these great ideals to the peaks. We believe that a strong Turkey is only possible with strong education. We feel the responsibility to carry the desire to reach the level of contemporary civilizations, as pointed out by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, into the future under the light of science, reason, and wisdom. We will continue to work tirelessly with the ambition to raise generations that will be pioneers in education, art, sports, technology, and many other fields. With these feelings and thoughts, I once again express my belief that we will elevate this blessed heritage of our Republic even further and that we will always maintain our determination to raise generations who are committed to our national and spiritual values, while I commemorate with gratitude and appreciation Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, his comrades-in-arms, our honored martyrs, and our heroic veterans.”

Following the speeches, Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat presented certificates of appreciation and gifts to students who ranked in poetry, painting, composition, poster, and letter competitions related to the theme of ‘Commemorating and Explaining Atatürk.’

The event continued with emotional moments as the Aydın Social Sciences High School performed the Atatürk Oratory, which received a warm reception from the audience. Some spectators could not hold back their tears during the prepared oratory, and the students were applauded for a long time.

The ceremony was attended by Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat, Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, Efeler Mayor Anıl Yetişkin, as well as institutional directors, political party representatives, students, and parents.
