Message from Yılmaz on November 10

Şehitkamil Mayor Umut Yılmaz issued a message on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the death of the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal. Yılmaz stated that Atatürk is not only a symbol and hope against imperialism for Turkey but also for oppressed nations.

Şehitkamil Mayor Umut Yılmaz shared a message on the 86th anniversary of the passing of Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Emphasizing that Atatürk is not just the founder of a state but also a symbol of the Turkish nation’s struggle for independence and freedom, Yılmaz said, “I commemorate our Republic’s and our independence’s architect, the leader of our War of Independence, our first and eternal General President, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with respect, gratitude, and longing on the 86th anniversary of his passing.”

Yılmaz continued, “Today, we remember a great leader, a sage, a political and military genius, a revolutionary, and a passionate lover of the homeland and the nation. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a leader, genius, and wise statesman who spent his youth on the battlefields with the idea of ‘National Sovereignty.’ The greatest legacy of the Great Leader, who packed many struggles and victories into his 57 years of life, is undoubtedly our free and independent Republic. The democratic, secular, and social legal state he established has become a beacon of hope for all oppressed nations. We are fighting to crown the Republic he founded, which he defined as ‘the protector of the helpless,’ with democracy. With these feelings and thoughts, on the 86th anniversary of his passing, I respectfully bow before the sacred memories of the esteemed Atatürk and all our heroes who fell as martyrs for our homeland, and I express my gratitude to all our veterans.”
