Commemoration ceremony for Atatürk on November 10 in Şırnak and Siirt
In Sirnak and Siirt, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated with ceremonies on the 86th anniversary of his passing. Various memorial ceremonies were held in Sirnak for the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who passed away on November 10, 1938.
In Sirnak and Siirt, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated with ceremonies on the 86th anniversary of his passing.
On November 10, 1938, various memorial ceremonies were held in Sirnak for the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who passed away on that date. The ceremony started in the morning with the laying of wreaths at the Atatürk monument located in the garden of the Sirnak Governorship. At 09:05, as sirens sounded, flags were lowered to half-mast in Sirnak, just like in the rest of Turkey. After a moment of silence, the memorial ceremonies continued with the reading of the National Anthem and various activities.
At the ceremony held in the governorship garden, Sirnak Governor Birol Ekici, 23rd Infantry Division Commander Major General Rıfat Dönel, and department heads attended.
The program continued in the Conference Hall of Şırnak Şehr-i Nuh Anadolu Imam Hatip High School, where students recited poetry, and there were oratory and slide shows.
Awards were given to students who ranked in poetry, painting, and composition categories. The program was attended by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Mevlüt Dirim, Chief Public Prosecutor Hayrullah Şahin, Provincial Police Chief Serdar Büyükleblebici, Provincial National Education Director Bilal Yılmaz Çandıroğlu, representatives of institutions, teachers, and students.
In Siirt, a ceremony was held at Cumhuriyet Square, where Governor Dr. Kemal Kızılkaya and the Garrison Commander and Acting Commander of the 3rd Commando Brigade Major General Osman Akyıldız laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument.
At 09:05, upon the sounding of sirens, a moment of silence was observed, and the National Anthem was sung.
The ceremony was attended by Governor Dr. Kemal Kızılkaya, provincial protocol, military and civil officials, department heads, representatives of political parties and civil society organizations, students, and citizens.
