The founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated on the 86th anniversary of his death with ceremonies held in the districts of Manisa.

In the districts of Alaşehir, Sarıgöl, Saruhanlı, Kula, and Salihli in Manisa, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was remembered on the 86th anniversary of his passing.

Ceremony in Alaşehir
The anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s death was commemorated with ceremonies held in Alaşehir. After the wreath-laying ceremony at the Republic and Democracy Square, a 2-minute silence was observed, followed by the reading of the National Anthem. The ceremony was attended by Alaşehir District Governor Alper Faruk Güngör, Garrison Commander Transportation Colonel Atilla Yeşiltepe, Alaşehir Mayor Ahmet Öküzcüoğlu, Chief Public Prosecutor Abdullah Sert, Heavy Penalty Chief Mustafa Kemal Gökmen, students, and citizens. The commemorative events for November 10 were celebrated with various activities at the Fethi Sekin Youth Center.

Ceremony in Saruhanlı
The memorial program in Saruhanlı was held at the July 15 Martyrs and Democracy Square. During the memorial program, Saruhanlı District Governor Murat Acar, Mayor Ekrem Cıllı, representatives of political parties, and NGOs laid wreaths in honor of the 86th anniversary of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s passing. The program concluded with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem.

Ceremony in Sarıgöl
The 86th anniversary of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s death was commemorated with a large turnout in the Sarıgöl district. In the memorial ceremony held in front of the Atatürk Monument in Sarıgöl Government Square, wreaths were laid at the monument. The ceremony was attended by Sarıgöl District Governor Halil Dalak, Sarıgöl Mayor Tahsin Akdeniz, officials from public institutions, students, district chairmen of political parties, representatives of civil society organizations, and citizens. The memorial activities continued later at the Atatürk Cultural Center. Additionally, agricultural workers and construction workers, upon hearing the siren, observed a 2-minute silence in honor of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s 86th death anniversary.

At the program held at the Salihli Devlet Bahçeli City Square, District Governor Ali Güldoğan, Mayor Mazlum Nurlu, Garrison Commander Transportation Major Arif Yıldızhan Gökhan, district chairmen of political parties, and representatives of NGOs laid wreaths at the Atatürk Monument, followed by a 2-minute silence and the reading of the National Anthem.

In the Kula district of Manisa, Ulu Önder Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated on the 86th anniversary of his death with a ceremony. The ceremony in Kula began with the laying of wreaths at the Atatürk monument in Şehit Ömer Halisdemir and Yunus Emre City Square. After a 2-minute moment of silence, the National Anthem was sung. As the clock showed 09:05, life almost came to a halt as all citizens observed a 2-minute silence and sang the National Anthem. Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the program continued with a ceremony held at the Cultural Center. The program prepared by Jeopark Middle School included a speech emphasizing the significance of the day, poetry readings by students, and an oratory performance. The program continued with a film screening and the recital of works favored by Atatürk, finishing with the awarding of prizes to students who ranked in competitions held in honor of the day. The memorial program was attended by District Governor Ömer Ahmet Özdemir, Deputy Mayor Semra Gündüz, District Gendarmerie Commander Lieutenant Bayram Yüksel, District Police Chief Ali Rıza Gökmen, representatives of political parties, department heads, heads of public institutions and organizations, heads of civil society organizations, school principals, teachers, students, and citizens.
