MHP’s Buyukataman: “There is no ‘Kurdish issue’ in Turkey, the problem is called ‘divisive terrorism’ problem.”

Ismet Buyukataman, General Secretary of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Bursa MP, responded from Bursa to the remarks of CHP Chairman Ozgur Ozel regarding the ‘Kurdish issue,’ stating that “There is no ‘Kurdish issue’ in Turkey; the issue is called the separatist terrorism issue.” MHP held the “Towards the Crescent Together” meetings in Bursa. In the meeting attended by the provincial organizations of Bursa, Canakkale, and Balikesir, MHP General Secretary and Bursa MP Ismet Buyukataman criticized CHP Chairman Ozgur Ozel’s remarks about the “Kurdish issue.” In his speech at the Atatürk Congress and Cultural Center, MHP General Secretary Ismet Buyukataman said, “You all see that our surroundings have turned into a battlefield. The plan of insatiable global imperialism to turn our region into a war zone is in action. The brutal attacks of the terrorist state Israel targeting Palestinian innocents have reached a point that threatens the entire Middle East and, in the near term, our country’s borders. The terrorist state that the terrorist organization PYD/YPG aims to establish under the sponsorship of the USA stands as an open threat to our country’s security and integrity. Considering our country’s geopolitical position and the ongoing war atmosphere in our region, we must see that we are surrounded and break the imperialist siege. Therefore, for the survival of our state, the peace and future of our nation, we need to take unifying, correct, and courageous steps. Our Chairman Devlet Bahceli has broken all taboos with the historic call he made in this atmosphere and has taken one of the boldest steps in the history of the republic for the end of the terror plague that has occupied Turkey since 1984 and for our country to break free from its shackles. This move by our Chairman is a manifestation of a noble stance that will direct history and carry the Turkish nation into the future, a profound ‘State Mind.’ Everyone knows very well that where there is the Nationalist Movement Party, there is no room for betrayal. If Devlet Bahceli has extended a hand, that hand is certainly extended for the interests of the homeland and our sacred nation. Our Chairman Devlet Bahceli has never let us bow our heads on any issue, and we firmly believe that he will not let us do so in the future.”

“The issue is called ‘separatist terrorist organization'”
Responding to CHP Chairman Ozgur Ozel’s remarks about the Kurdish issue, Buyukataman stated, “The CHP Chairman has raised his voice by saying that there is a ‘Kurdish issue’ in Turkey, bringing forth the discourse of equal citizenship that opens the door to division. He has spoken in the language of the separatist terrorist organization controlled from foreign capitals and has once again revealed that he serves division and polarization by saying that we have different flags. Every citizen of the Republic of Turkey is equal and has equal rights. There is no ‘Kurdish issue’ in Turkey. The name of the issue is the separatist terrorism issue. What is continuously brought before us as the Kurdish issue is actually an artificial project orchestrated by imperialists to divide the Ottoman Empire yesterday and today the Republic of Turkey. The narrative of the Kurdish issue is a bloody trap of the imperialists. Our Kurdish brothers will not be a part of this trap. The Nationalist Movement Party will never give way to this externally controlled mentality that sees our Kurdish brothers as a problem and turns the wheel of discord to exploit them.”

“The PKK has 3 options”
Expressing that the separatist terrorist organization PKK has 3 options left, Buyukataman stated, “Our Chairman Devlet Bahceli has extended a hand to unite against the plot of division and discord in the great Turkish nation. The hand extended by Devlet Bahceli is not for a new solution process or division; it is extended for the journey towards a great and strong Turkey, Together Towards the Crescent. In this direction, as our Chairman Devlet Bahceli has stated, the PKK terrorist organization has 3 options: the first is to unconditionally and immediately cease all terrorist activities; the second is to come down from the mountains and surrender to the state of the Republic of Turkey with their weapons; and the third is to accept the judgment of Turkish justice and serve their sentences. There is no other solution, alternative option, and there will never be. The DEM Party must also make its choice between arms and politics as soon as possible. If the terrorist gangs that operate to divide our country do not surrender, the iron fist of the Turk will surely fall upon their heads. The Nationalist Movement Party will defend and protect the rights of the martyrs to the end. With the resolute and uncompromising stance of the Nationalist Movement Party and the People’s Alliance, the fight against terrorism will continue in all areas, and the roots of terrorism will be uprooted. The Republic of Turkey is a great and strong state, capable of maintaining its claim to be the hope of our geography and crushing the head of the terrorism plague. The Republic of Turkey is singular, has a national and unitary structure, and is a whole with its country and nation. Turkish identity is our supreme and indispensable identity.”
