Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Board Chairman Ömer Gülsoy issued a written message on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the eternal passing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
In his message, Chairman Gülsoy stated, “The vision of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic and the architect of our independence, will continue to guide us and illuminate our path. We will forever uphold the legacies of our forefather. On the 86th anniversary of his departure from us, I commemorate our Great Leader with mercy, longing, gratitude, respect, and appreciation.”
Chairman Gülsoy continued his message as follows:
“As on every November 10, there is again deep sorrow in our souls, but there is also an equally vast love in our hearts. We will always remember Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who granted us the honor of living as a free and independent nation, with love and longing. Our greatest sentiment towards our forefather is gratitude and appreciation. He wrote history with his revolutions, lifted a great country back on its feet, introduced women to their rights, offered children a future illuminated by education, called farmers ‘masters’, and introduced our country to a secular and democratic Republic. To our forefather, who offered everything that is in favor of social life, rights, and humanity to the Turkish nation, no matter how much we thank him or how much respect we show, it is never enough. The greatest and most important expression of our gratitude and appreciation towards our forefather is to understand, uphold, and never compromise in advancing on the path he showed, with his principles and revolutions. On this day when we commemorate our forefather, we will carry the sacred trust we have received towards the goal he set, with determination and resolution. In response to the words of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said, ‘We do not need anything, we only need one thing; to be hardworking,’ we, as heirs of a nation that has managed to unite despite all kinds of dirty games, must protect the achievements and values of the Republic and work with all our might to ensure its permanence until eternity. We will forever protect and sustain the secular, democratic, modern Republic of Turkey, which is a legacy of Atatürk and our esteemed ancestors, as an indivisible whole with its country and nation. This is a responsibility stemming from history and our greatest duty to future generations. As the Turkish business community, we will act with the awareness that the Republic of Turkey needs to maintain its economic independence to preserve its existence forever and strive in line with this principle. With these feelings and thoughts, I respectfully commemorate the esteemed memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the great leader of the Turkish independence struggle, the founder of our Republic, and I honor all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland; with gratitude, appreciation, respect, and mercy. May their souls rest in peace.
