Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç visited the TOMTAŞ Aviation Facility, which has been revived through a joint venture between the Metropolitan Municipality and the public and private sectors.
Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç visited TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology Inc., Turkey’s first aircraft factory, which has been re-established in Kayseri.
Mayor Büyükkılıç received information about the ongoing projects from Ali Ekşi, the Chairman of the TOMTAŞ Investment Board, and the board members.
Büyükkılıç stated that Turkey will shine as a star in the defense industry and said, “We visited the TOMTAŞ Aviation Facility, which, starting production in 1924, closed down but has risen from its ashes with the support of our Metropolitan Municipality and the public-private partnership, embodying the saying, ‘A hero rises from where he fell.'”
Wishing ease to the personnel who will assemble the Hürjet, which will be a source of pride for the Turkish defense industry, Büyükkılıç said, “I wish ease to our brothers working in this high-tech base where the assembly of our Hürjet, which will bring our national platforms to life, will take place. With their determination and dedication, our country will achieve much greater successes in the aviation sector.”
Ali Ekşi, Chairman of the TOMTAŞ Investment Board, thanked Mayor Büyükkılıç for his support, stating, “As our story, which was left unfinished a century ago, rises from its ashes in the 100th year of our Republic, we sincerely thank our esteemed Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, who has never left us alone with his support, saying, ‘A hero rises from where he fell.'”
Ekşi expressed that they will work harder and produce more together for a great and strong Turkey.
