In the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa, a meaningful campaign initiated by Türkan Koyuncu Kindergarten has strengthened the sense of cooperation and solidarity among young students. Hundreds of toys collected as part of the campaign were delivered to kindergarten students studying in the village of Demirci, which is affiliated with Siverek.
As part of the activities carried out within the framework of the “BİGEP” (Project for Monitoring and Developing Success) initiated by the Governorship of Şanlıurfa, students of Türkan Koyuncu Kindergarten visited the village to gift the hundreds of toys they collected to their peers in Demirci. The visit also allowed the students to experience village life for the first time.
During the event, the children spent time playing games with their friends in the village. In addition, the little students who had lunch with the students in the village celebrated by cutting a cake, creating fun moments. The event, lasting approximately two hours, facilitated bonding among the students.
Kazım Özkalender, the principal of Türkan Koyuncu Kindergarten and one of the organizers of the campaign, stated about the event, “Today, we visited kindergarten students in Demirci village with hundreds of toys we collected under the project ‘Share Your Unused Toy with Your Brother,’ carried out under the leadership of the Governorship of Şanlıurfa through the BİGEP project. This was also a different experience for our students; they had the opportunity to see the village environment and connect with village children. I thank all our parents, teachers, and students who contributed to this project. Hopefully, this project will continue every year in different villages.”
Saliha Öztürk, the teacher of Demirci Kindergarten, also expressed, “We thank the students, teachers, and administration of Türkan Koyuncu Kindergarten. Such activities provide great advantages for our children in an environment where social activities are limited in the village. We hope for the continuation of such initiatives.”
The event concluded with cutting the cake.
