Trendyol will bring together young people in Anatolia with art.

The e-commerce platform Trendyol will travel across Anatolia with Trendyol Art, established to bring art to wider audiences and make it accessible for everyone.

Trendyol continues to expand its support for art and artists. The Trendyol Art project, which opens up digital spaces for young and independent artists and connects them and their works with millions of art enthusiasts, is now moving to different cities in Anatolia with face-to-face meetings. ‘Trendyol Art Conversations’, which will be held in 12 different provinces, will bring together leading figures in contemporary art with art lovers living in these provinces, especially young students of fine arts and independent artists.

The first event in the art conversation series took place on November 5, Tuesday, at StudioMAHAL in Çanakkale, as part of the 9th Çanakkale Biennial, one of Turkey’s important contemporary art events. The event titled “Young Artists and Contemporary Structures: Galleries, Fairs, and Biennials” was moderated by Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf, Head of the Department of Art and Culture Management at Yeditepe University, Art Writer, and Curator; while multidisciplinary artist Kaan Tarhan, Corporate Curator of the Çanakkale Biennale Deniz Erbaş, and Founding Director of the Çanakkale Biennale, Faculty Member at ÇOMÜ GSF Seyhan Boztepe were speakers. The panel discussed current trends in art, the present and future of the art market, among other topics.

“Art conversations contribute to the visibility of contemporary art”
Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf evaluated Trendyol Art Conversations with the following words: “The Trendyol Art platform is a unique medium that provides young artists with visibility in the digital space and the opportunity to share their works with a broader audience. The art conversations are an important initiative in terms of education and sharing art. This series of meetings brings together artists, curators, art historians, art writers, and art managers with art enthusiasts, discussing the current aesthetic, formal, and conceptual dimensions of contemporary art, contributing to the understanding of contemporary artists. It creates a discussion platform on important issues of today’s art. At the same time, it builds a significant bridge between the art world and the public, contributing to the popularization and visibility of art.”

The biennale will continue until November 11
The e-commerce platform, which continues to support leading cultural and artistic events in Turkey, is also among the supporters of the Çanakkale Biennale. Under the title “Letting Time Go”, the 9th Çanakkale Biennale brings together different disciplines of art with Çanakkale’s unique cultural and historical fabric and will continue until November 11. This year, the biennale presents a selection that highlights digital technologies and new media art with the theme of ‘youth’, featuring works by more than 50 artists from Turkey and around the world, which will meet with art enthusiasts in different venues in Çanakkale.
