The Muş Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports has taken action to provide a long-unused building in the Tepebağı area of the Hürriyet neighborhood for the service of young people and local residents.
In the project initiated due to the intense demand from the residents of Muş Hürriyet Neighborhood, the idle building will soon undergo a comprehensive renovation process and be transformed into a modern youth center.
With the approval of Muş Governor Avni Çakır, the building, which was transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, will be operational under the name Tepebağı Youth Center. The building will host many activities ranging from sports activities to personal development training.
Mehmet Arif Taşdemir, the Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, announced the youth center to be established for young people while conducting inspections in the neighborhood. Taşdemir stated, “We aim to establish a beautiful center here for our youth and local residents. By increasing the number of youth centers in Muş, we are trying to guide our children towards sports and develop their personal, social, and athletic skills. The Tepebağı Youth Center will open its doors to local residents with this mission, and we are present in every aspect of life for our youth and citizens in Muş. While the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports aims to develop and popularize sports activities, we are directing children and young people to sports by conducting studies to train athletes and increase interest in sports. Additionally, we strive to identify the interests, needs, and problems of the youth and work towards their solutions. We organize various activities and training in our Youth Centers to raise our youth in personal, social, and sports fields,” he said.
Taşdemir mentioned that the number of Youth Centers in the provincial center, which is currently 2, will soon be increased to 3, saying, “We made a request for the allocation of the building in the Tepebağı area of Hürriyet Neighborhood, which has not been used for a long time, in line with the intense demand from local residents and young people. Since he was appointed to our province, Governor Avni Çakır, who attaches great importance to youth and sports, has shown interest in the more active use of youth centers and sports halls by young people, so we requested the transfer of the building to our institution. With the approval of our esteemed governor, it was deemed appropriate for the building to be allocated to the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. We aim to organize activities for local residents and young people in the building that has been allocated to us and which we plan to operate under the name Tepebağı Youth Center, for which we will start work soon. Our new Youth Center will actively serve our youth and citizens, just like our other centers. We will soon begin comprehensive renovation and maintenance work on the currently unusable building. After completing all furnishings, personnel appointments, and landscaping, we will have increased the number of youth centers across the province to 8. I wish our new youth center to be beneficial for our province, local residents, and young people.”
