Excitement of elections was experienced at the Denizli Metropolitan Children’s Council.
The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Children’s Assembly held its 15th Elected Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. In the election where a total of 20 candidates competed, Mustafa Kemal Balaman was elected as the President of the Children’s Assembly, and Su Elmas was elected as the co-chair.

The 15th Elected Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Children’s Assembly was held. The general assembly, which took place at the Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Ali Marım, the President of the Metropolitan Municipality City Council, Mehmet Selçuk, the Director of Culture and Social Affairs, Baran Akın, the Secretary-General of the City Council, members of the Children’s Assembly, and guests.
Baran Akın, the Secretary-General of the City Council, explained the structure of the City Council and the Children’s Assembly, emphasizing the importance of the Children’s Assembly, where children aged 7-15 will discuss their problems and proposed solutions and convey their demands. Akın stated, “You have the right to dream for Denizli and to present your suggestions to the municipal council, and you have the right to participate, unlike all other associations.”

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor and City Council President Ali Marım wished the general assembly to be beneficial and expressed that they would undertake very important work together. President Ali Marım said, “Children are very important to us; they are our future. Preparing our children for the future is the responsibility of families, teachers, and us. We are aware of our responsibility to prepare the future for children, as indicated by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. In democracies, we want to create this awareness in our assemblies to be elected, to use the right to vote for everyone, and to prepare our children for the future. As the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, we strive to ensure that everyone can be a good citizen in Denizli and create a happy and peaceful city.”
20 candidates competed
After the speeches, the election took place. In the General Assembly, Şebnem Dal Üzülmez was elected as the chairperson of the council, while the incumbent President Didar Melek Armutcuk did not run in the elections where 20 candidates competed. Mustafa Kemal Balaman was elected as the President of the Children’s Assembly, and Su Elmas was elected as the Co-President.
