Yurt Village, known as the “Switzerland of Gümüşhane,” captivates nature enthusiasts with all the colors of autumn.
Gümüşhane continues to host the unique symphony of autumn, the most magnificent display of nature, with its trees reaching towards the sky adorned with leaves in a thousand shades of yellow, red, and orange, accompanied by mists rising from deep valleys to the peaks of mountains.
Thirty athletes, including Gümüşhane Governor Aydın Baruş, members of the Gümüşhane Mountaineering, Nature Sports and Youth Association (GÜDAK), embarked on a hike along a magnificent route starting from Yurt Village, considered Gümüşhane’s “Switzerland,” and extending to Aşağı Karadere Village, discovering the unique beauties of nature with every step.
Beginning from within the village, the hike passed through a forest at the foot of the snow-covered Sarıç Mountain, where the athletes were mesmerized by the beauty of nature that resembled a painting alongside the autumn landscapes.
Breathing in the autumn colors and enjoying the day, the athletes immortalized each moment by taking photographs, retreating from the stress of the city to be alone with nature in Gümüşhane’s paradise.
“This hike affected all of us a lot”
Demet Bayraktar, one of the athletes participating in the event, stated that they hiked on a very beautiful route showcasing all the beauties of autumn, saying, “We encountered all the colors of the season. Green, yellow, orange, red, they were all there. The snow at the foot of Sarıç Mountain created a beautiful harmony. It was a wonderful hike. This was the first time we walked this route. I would love to come back again. After the Spider Forests, this hike really impressed all of us with its magnificent nature. It was a very comfortable trail. Our team was satisfied as well. There were new friends who joined. From our conversations, I observed that they liked it a lot and were very happy. We are considering coming back again.”
“Summer is beautiful, winter is beautiful too”
Yurt Village Mayor Halil İbrahim Demir, who guided the team, indicated that the scenery during the hike to Aşağı Karadere was very beautiful, stating, “As you can see, our view is beautiful. Summer is beautiful, and winter is beautiful. It is already evident from the burst of colors. We recommend this place to everyone. They should come and see it, we suggest they explore. It is a beautiful place, intertwined with nature.”
“A very nice area and course that everyone can walk, and it is easy”
GÜDAK President Mustafa Akbulut stated that the approximately 12-kilometer trail is very comfortable and beautiful, remarking, “We always did this hike in the Spider Forests, witnessing the transformation of nature’s colors. However, this was the first time we came here, and the trail surprised us beautifully. We saw nature very well. The colors intertwined, it was practically a color feast. It is a very nice area that everyone can walk, and the trail is easy. It consists of flat and downhill sections. We were a total of 30 people on today’s trail. I invite everyone to come and see these beautiful areas, to explore.”
